    Default Shipping a Vintage Pachinko?

I remember seeing a link somewhere that showed how to pack and ship a Vintage Pachinko Properly... But i cant seem to find it again.

I found some instructions on vintage pachinko, but the instructions that I remember had pictures of a machine with wood blocks (like feet) attached to the top and bottom of the machine.

    Any suggestions?

1st you need a good sturdy box.
2nd Bubble wrap is your friend
    3rd Peanuts are your enemy

I will usually put a piece of cardboard over the face of the machine they get some bubble wrap to place between the two front trays and above the front tray to the top of the machine to make a flat surface. Then I do the same thing on the back, then I wrap the machine to hold this padding in place.

Then I wrap the machine length wise a couple of times so that there is padding all over the machine. Put it in a box with a couple of extra inches top and bottom and fill that voice with small priority mail boxes. Making sure that all the edges are properly padded so it won't break though the box.

I usually start with a 36x24x20 box $4.00 in lots of 5 from U-Line for 200lb test or $8.00 in lots of 5 for 275lb 36x24x24 double walled.
I have not had any problems with the 200lb test. Then I cut the depth down if needed.

I have noticed that quite a few vintages appear to have damage to their play trays

I suspect these are weak areas and susceptible to damage,

I would pay extra attention to protecting these

the upper boards keep the plastic tray from getting busted.

    When in doubt:

    Buy the insurance.
    Buy the insurance.
    Buy the insurance.

I received $41 in a claim when the front glass was broken in transit.

    Buy the insurance.
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

I found out that crumpled newspaper as packing material at least 6" on the sides and 1' on the front and back and 6" or more on the bottom and top makes great cushoning material . I used 2 each 33 gal. lawn and leaf bags to cover the machine one from the top rolled down to the bottom and one from the bottom to the top to fully "seal" the machine for shippment in the double walled carboard box with plenty of shipping tape on the bottom and top of the box.
