a cabinet of some sort feeding the upper ball hopper of your Pachinko would be the way to go..
and if not a cabinet some sort of ball container again feeding the balls into the upper hopper

    YES

    Build yourself a Battleship !

This Sucker will hold 21,000 Sphere's.

    That's 252 Pounds of BALLS !

Each Machine in the Cabinet will go through at least 3 back to back Fevers without having to reload.

    And Welcome To PachiTalk ! ! !

Here are pics of my solution to 2500 balls per machine:
    1. A maple box to hold the spheres, should easily hold 4000
    2. This is 2500 balls
    3. This pic shows how the balls are contained inside of the cabinet.
    4. The maple strips are about an 1/8" thick and glued to the top of the cabinet.
    5. A pic of a box waiting to be installed on the next machine.

The maple I use is VERY hard and can take the punishment of the balls being dumped into the ball holding box.
    Thats my solution!

    People love their balls!

I have found that 2400-2500 balls per machine with my set up works great for when you hit a fever. You can play through the whole fever without having to dump balls all of the time.

Jerry, do you use any kind of tube to feed the balls between the hole in the bottom of the box and the actual hopper? I do, because it prevents the balls from overflowing the plastic hopper. The problem is, the tube usually has to extend just below the top edge of the hopper. This makes it impossible to swing open whole thing out of the frame - the tube prevents it.

I see you have some extra wood added on back, alongside the top edge of the plastic hopper. Is the purpose of this to prevent overflows? I may need to try this. Then I can shorten up the feed tube without worrying about overflows. This way I can actually swing the machine out from the cabinet.

the feed tub does not have to be that long.. if u place it at the same level as the hopper it will be fine.. make it as long as possible but allow the machine to open.. also keep the tube close to the wood frame and away from the rim of the hopper..

The balls fall from the top storage box into the hopper by gravity and the wood extentions keep the balls in the payout tray.
You can only open the machine when all of the balls are emptied.
I am working on a machine this week and I will get some more pics to show what I mean.

I've tried making the tube just clear the rim of the hopper but balls would occasionally overflow...this is probably because I haven't placed the tube. as close to the wood frame as you mentioned.

I think I'll try shortening up the tubes and adding that extra wood backstop that portercbl has on his.

Lightbulb Re: An easy way to store 4000 pachinko balls on your machine

I have put all of my pachinko's in wood frames and that is the only way my method for increasing your ball capacity will work.

Pic 1 and 2 shows the start of enclosing the pay out ball hopper by closing off the space behind the hopper. All machines are different and you adjust your enclosure accordingly. you have to make sure that the wood you use just clears any part of the machine that moves when you open the machine from it's frame.
Pic 3 and 4 and 5 show the 2 sides being closed off. you have to cut your wood to fit the opening so nothing interferes with you opening the machine from the frame.
Pic 6 shows the last piece being glued into position and completely enclosing the pay out tray.
Then you just add your hopper to the top and there you have a large capacity for storage of all of your pachinko balls.
I do use a scroll saw to make things easier.

Beautiful work. I have been building my cabs with the same reservoir at the top, but without enclosing the hopper like that.

    A new mod to make!!!
