Unhappy The Saddest Tear Jerker film i have seen

Those that hae seen it or are conected with pinball on the forum must have seen the title of this therad and know exactly witch film i am about to tell you about...

I have seen the film today after a little serching i found it last night and watched it thismorning 30 mins later im still sat here with images of George Gomez's face in my mind when he tried to discribe what he felt and just couldent the way the team had been given what they thought was an imposible goal to save williams pinball and the ideas they came up with the 2 breakaway designers that went out on a limb and called the managment and the rest of the team out at a bord meating and spent there spare time at home designing and producing a prototype of what could forfill the requirments to the full designe stage marketing and the production run to the company making the first real profit in years to the second release of the new system to having the plug pulled in just a couple of days with almost no warning to seeing a dream a sucsess end with almost no warning with the third release never to make it past the designe and prototype stage...

The scary and sadening part about this is the film is not fictional it is very real and plots the demise of Williams pinball in the last 2 years of the companys life

the film is called TILT (The battle to save pinball)
and i highly recomend to anyone to watch it if they have any intrest in pinball at all but be warned you will be left with some vivid images in your mind for a long time afterwards and in need of a box of tissues...

I'll have to check that out. I did see "King of Kong" though. It was a great underdog story. That Billy Mitchell guy seemed like an A$$. I wanted to smack him! It's a good flick...Check it out.

Tilt rules !!! King of Kong doesnt compare at all.

Yes they are both documentaries and yes the subject is about coin op games but the comparison ends there.

Tilt is a really good movie if your into the subject or not. It was so good as a matter of fact I bought my Pinball machine because of it.
Tilt is more for people with a mechanical aptitude and an interest in what is involved in creating things from an engineers point of view.
Its not for everyone but for members of Pachitalk it would be good film to see as you are already interested in machines and have that mindset.

King of Kong is a fun movie both silly and sad and more for the general public

When I met George Gomez ( One of the central figures in the Tilt story) I told him that the part where he starts to tear up was one of the things that makes the movie what it is. He told me that he had wished that they edited that part. Guess he felt embarrassed for showing genuine emotion.

I even had the chance to have a photo taken with him in front of Revenge From Mars the pinball machine that he designed and the true subject of the film.

is there a place to download tilt from?i would like to watch it.when wms decided to cease pinball production in 1999 to make slot machines instead i thought WTF, are they trying to compete with IGT ?they would rather be the no.2 manufacturer of slots rather than the no.1 in pinball?they had the best with wpc and the changeover to p2k would have been great for them.but,noooo.thank god, that all of their talented pinball designers were able to continue their work at stern.

Correction to my previous mention, Netflix has it available to request, but they do not yet have the movie. I left it on my wish list along with Quartermas and the Pit...another movie they do not have available yet.
