Question Marudai New Prince Vintage Pachi

Someone is selling a pachinko machine discribed as a

    "Marudai", "New Prince"

They have no pictures, and are not sure what they want for them... yada yada yada.

She described it as being as not having plastic parts, so i will assume its 1960's or older.

Has anyone every heard of this brand?

    Thanks

I've never heard of this one, did some searching here and found nothing, and no mention in the Research Centre either,

tried a google search and found a couple of references, but the links were dead

The info was that one was described as 1960?? and one was once for sale on craigs list in nashville

Ah yes... Compirate comes through with a photo!

Now, please correct me if i am wrong, but I take it that this is what they call a single shot?

About how old would you think that this machine is, and what would a fair offer be -- IF it was in working condition?
(Personally, i like them better when they need a repair here and there!)

And does the fact that its a little known manufacture make it a collectors item, or a future door stop?

    Guide me o wise one

I'm no wise one. Just clever

Yes, this is a single shot, this one is of mine.

Age, I couldn't say. Older - no tulips, metal pockets, hand made metal parts on the back.

Marudai may have been bought out by someone else, no idea. Collectability is in the eye of the beholder. Pre-Masamura, unique features, first of a series, a maker you don't have, that makes any game collectable in my eyes - then again it's any machine I don't have that make it collectable to me!

sounds like someone's going to get a single shot...

looks a lot like the ginza I got last month. I bought it for $75 on ebay and had to ship it back from illinois.

No mudfud, not A single shot. I got TWO single shots!

Lucky for me, the seller had an identical machine for spare parts.
I couldnt resist. The mechanics are a bit dirty and really need to be disassembled and cleaned... But the playfield is in remarkable shape.

I like the idea of having a machine from a unique and unknown manufacturer, but parts and information would be hard to come by.
I would not have bought it except for the fact that there was a spare machine available for parts...(Ok, who am i kidding? I would have bought it anyways!)

This will be my first FULL breakdown, and re-assembly. So wish me luck. I am open to suggestions on use of solvents, what tools i need, etc.

I'd love to know more about the "Marudai" company. I found something on this machine that i did not expect. I beleieve it has a United States patent number.

I am NOT addicted... Pachinko is a positive influence in my life.
(I have not cleaned my garage in years... Until i needed a clean spot to work on the pachinko machines! My Guest room is full!)

nice find!!! and with spare parts to boot

you probably saw the picture of my living room. at least the wife is tolerating my redecorating.

i'll have to check out your new single shots when I visit your powerflash this week.

    congrats!

p.s. I'm now going to start making parts from scratch for machines (got a small milling machine and molding and casting materials for epoxy resin), so let's get BOTH of your machines working!

That is a really cool machine you got there!! I love the simplicity of the mechanics on the back. It's interesting to see how Pachis have 'evolved' over the years; each new model has a few improvements over the next. If you compare the back of your single shot with a newer machine from each model year up to the late 80's, you can see that the mechanics are still based on the same basic concept, but improvements have been implemented each model year to add more features (or bells & whistles) to each one.

You scored, my friend! I would taken both as well had I found them for sale in my area.

    Congratulations!

Cool machine there Johnny. I can't quite make out the dates on the sticker. Can you tell us the Year?

Compire, what is the year on yours? If it has the sticker?
