Default Newbie asks: replacement logic boards?

Wow! Just when I think we're the only ones (in the USA) that have ever found such a neat machine, I find this site

The wife-n-I were browsing through a garage sale on Friday and she saw these dust-covered "slot machines" in the back corner and a deal was struck

I discover these are probably old models by reading through the pages here but they're fun and are keeping us both out of the dang casino in town

I spent Friday afternoon cleaning them up and about three hours later nearly every friend I know was over playing on them in our dining room Everyone kept asking where the "drink lady" was and when she'd be bringing another 'round

Anyway. We have two now 'Taco-slot' and 'Marine Battle' they both work great except for one blown bulb and what I am guessing is maybe a bad logic board in Marine Battle that prevents the lights from coming on when the top reel spins. I spent a few more hours over the weekend to pull the reel and check the bulbs etc and all check out (tested on the other machine) so this leads me to believe the circuit board is the problem.
So.... Does anyone know if I can buy a replacement logic board for this or do we just accept the lights won't work on that top (horizontal spin) reel?

I'm glad that someone else mentioned there is a "12 step program" for these machines. The wife is already hunting down more on the 'net and expanding the new house plans to include a "game room" for the anticipated growth of our own collection

Thanks in advance for any input or directions.

Welcome, Wrenchmonkey! I had to laugh at your message. You need to start the 12 step "recovery" program, that's for sure. :-P Unfortunately, the program rarely really offers a cure -- it just makes you feel better about your addiction.

    Welcome!

I would email info@stealthhomeamusement.com they may be able to help you out on that board you're looking for.

Since it's your and your wife, I'm wondering if our 12 step program is good enough, or would you require 24?

    Thanks for the welcome guys!

Hey Tulsa.... We're virtual neighbors. I'm in Siloam Springs

I'll try stealthhome to see what he might suggest...

I noticed the circuit board that the top reel plugs into uses two connectors along the bottom but it also has another connector block that's un-used along the front edge near the bottom of the same board...
I compared the boards of our two machines and noticed that the other machine uses the connector block that is un-used in the machine with the light problem....
This makes me wonder if I might just be able to replace the wire-set and plug into the unused connector block, like maybe a driver chip or something simple is bad on the circuit board and using the 'other' connector would use a different set of chips????

The odd thing is that top reel still spins (occassionally during play) it just doesn't light-up so it's really no big deal. Just one more of those things to make you go Hmmmm?

Another cool thing happened tonight. I emailed some close-up pictures of the panels on Taco and Marine to a friend of mine that is currently over in China working there. He has a friend that might be able to translate the characters on the panels for me so I can understand what they're tellin' me and maybe be able to hit BB and RB a bit easier..

Marine battles top reel does not light up unless you are in Big bonus. No need to take apart anything else, when you hit the BB youll see it light up if the light is in working order! Any other time it wont light up at all!

Seems to be a known problem with the marine battle machines. It is a driver chip on the IO board. (Board to the left of the reels). From memory, it's one of chips on the very bottom; SMT

Its not a problem, The lights only light up during BB. Ive never had a Marine Battle light up on a normal spin, only druing bonus.
