    Default My Pachinko Collection

This is my first Pachinko post, I've lurked and read posts about pachinko repair, although I posted regarding problems with my Pachislo.

I'm now the proud owner of my 3rd vintage Pachinko machines. My collection started about 5 years ago, at a garage sale, with just 1 machine and in the last year I've added 2 more ,one at a local flea market and one via a local e-bay seller which save the S&H. I may have another machine in the wings just waiting to see back from the seller.

This is almost as addictive as my other hobby of collecting pinball machines. Must be something in the shiny coating on those steel balls.

Prices have been between $50 and $60 Canadian for vintage machines. Unfortunately, shipping to/from Canada makes it almost impossible to use e-bay.
I've posted pictures, in order of the machines I bought. The 1st one was interesting in that the shooter is actually a knob rather than a level.

My most recent, the New Gin "15", is missing the supply/feeder tray. (anyone know where to get one?) It was also jammed up, with a marble and a piece of lego.

    WOW.. .Great machines!

I LOVE the US Flag one!

Is the 'knob shooter' electronic or manual? We have seen some 'vintage style' with knobs but they were electronic in nature. This is generally how we have differentiated between Vintage and Modern. However, the dividing line is more like a dividing fuzzy greyish kind of squiggle.

Does any of these have the expiration stickers with dates on them?

Has anyone seen the US Flag style before?

What the heck is some Candian doing with the US Flag machine!

Ok... I'll quit. One last note, my 7th cousin is Francis Scott Key author of the Star Spangled Banner (the US national anthem). Couple that with my 'supposed' addiction to pachinko.. well.. as you can image... .

Anyway glad to have you in the Vintage Pachinko area and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Good luck on finding the tray, parts are tough to come by!

"Knob shooter" is manual, or at least that's how I use it? The only electronics appear to be the lights. I'll try to get some pictures of the back later today.

Thanks everyone for the positive welcome!!!

Your right on Compirate... or is it Dr Darwin?

Hopefully it has an expiration sticker so we can date it.

My Candian friend you have a truly unique machine there!

The Flag one is pretty dang cool too! I'll trade you my modern Pochi for it!

    Welcome! Very nice machines!

On the first one. Is that a ceramic door knob? Maybe the original lever broke off?

try vintage pachinko for a replacement tray. they're pricey ($50) but bill probably has one that will fit.

or, make one out of a tupperware or other plastic box, or cigar box if you want wood.

Here are some additional pictures on the "knob shooter". I can't tell if the knob is plastic of ceramic.

Just above the Playing Tray it's labelled "Flex Rotary" and just above the "Received Tray" is got a tag that says "IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY".

Maybe it is electric, but I don't see any electical parts, i.e. no motors, connecting to the shooter knob other than what looks like a switch.

That last photo you posted of the back indicates (to me at least) that this may be one of the very first electric knob shooters - perhaps a prototype. The machine appears to be a Nishijin 'B' model, and as far as I have read or seen, there were never any motors or electronics installed on a 'B' model like we see in that photo. The knob shooters didn't really appear in production until the very late 70's or early 80's. For Nishijin, I don't believe they appeared until the 'C' models.

What a truly unique machine you have there. I think it is definitely a keeper!!

Congrats and Welcome to the Club!!

the date on that 5th pic is 11/16/73

I wonder if it's an aftermarket thing. Anything on the front that would indicate that it's electric, labels, etc...

    More photos.

Looks like just a transformer on the back above the shooter. Not certain how it would be connected to the shooter. I can manually turn the shooter knob and when I let go, the ball is shot in to the field.

If you can operate the machine with out it being plugged in and the balls will shoot up the ramp, then that is definitive proof that it's not an electric shoot. From what you've posted to date, this appears to be the case.

IF this is the case and IF the shooter knob is original from the factory, then you have an extremely RARE machine. This would be one of those machines that I would definitely want to restore it to it's full potential as it's potential value due to it's uniqueness would be quite high.

That transformer looks more like a motor to me. Some clearer shots (head on, from the side, the knob) would help. It's probably 100VAC, but I'd try it at 24VAC first.

Yes, if it is factory, super rare (of course, that only means something to some of us, you know who you are!) Definitely the only one I know of. If you were close to me, I'm sure we'd work out an... arrangement (insert evil laugh here)

Its cool to see the vintage with the knob..the Japanese site I used to go to said the shooter knob first came out in 1972!!

The pic they had on that site was small but I do remember the knob being blue and white too!!
