Any one on this web site who would not buy two pachinkos for $20 has hit the wrong button on their pc and should be somewhere else.
If its not an addiction you will have no problem selling them to me for $40, 100% mark up, I will expect my new machines soon.
    OR ARE YOU ADDICTED?

If you need more room you can mount one on the wall in the Bathroom.

rusty,at 10 bucks apiece,it is neither an obsession nor an addiction.it is an INVESTMENT .you can always sell them at a great profit.

Hey Mopar, thanks for the info. I went to Bills site and found the attached photos. Exact same 'center target' but totally different machine and manufactor! Crazy! I wonder how this happens? Wow.. .we learn something new everyday and find two things that tell us there is more to discover!

    Later,
i have seen that happen too.i wonder if the importers who refurbished these for resale might have used parts from junk machines to replace damaged ones during the restoration process.or maybe a parlor technician might have swapped parts in japan.

Hey, you could be spending it on hookers (although, as much junk as I've purchased over the years, the wife probably wishes I had, the house would be emptier!)

I agree with the others...at $10 each, you made an investment. You can turn around and sell them both on ebay for 10 times that.

You guys are killin' me with these CL deals...the Power Flash, and the Coin Op were just too good to be true...
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

I learned this trick from a thread on here to be truthful. I use a website called Craig's Helper. Here's the link:

Craig's Helper - Search Craigslist Quickly and Easily

Now, I turned off any other 'site searchs' other than Craigs List cause that is where all the 'deals' are. Then I set my distance to be 250miles cause most of that distance is still in Texas (Yeah.. it's a big state) from me. Then I put in my "KeyWords" search parameter. This site saves your last search as long as you have cookies enabled.

Here's a good hint. Spend some time reviewing the 'Advanced' section under "KeyWords". Using the right combination you can have the system search for not only the common things (Pachinko) but also for other phrases that my fly under the radar (Chinese Pinball, Japanese Pinball, pachinco, etc.)

The site is really great and returns results in individual windows that you can then browse a particular city's CraigsList in with out screwing up the rest of the result list (use the 'green refresh' in the individual city window).

Well.. there it is.. the secret (if you can call it that) is out. Good luck to all.

Oh... so much for the "Ban Craig's List" thread eh?

You know the phone works great when trying to sort out whether to buy one that you agreed to with the person you made the agreement with...knuckle head...you know that is the issue...a deal is a deal is a deal ...and I don't speak pachiese so... these guys are lucky that you have a limit to the amount you can have but you have great luck with finding awesome deals for them....hmmmm...Love Ya Honey...

Here's the story. I became aware of the possibility of a pachinko machine for sale. (Well, OK, I have a saved searched for pachinko's on Craig's list with a radius of 250 miles.) This particular ad didn't have the pachinkos as a main topic, but was in the description of a garage sale and it stated there were 'Pachinko Machines' there. So I told her I wanted to check it out (it was only about 20 minutes away) and she agreed. So I loaded up my son and my middle daughter we headed out. When we arrived I discovered two vintage machines (see photos below) that were priced at $10 each. Yes, $10 ... it was their sticker so it's not like I had to negotiate! Now I had taken just less than $40 with me that I was going to invest in a single machine. But two... for $20 total...

What is a man to do! Well I brought them both home! This is where the obsession/addiction discussion started. So, back me up here guys and gals. No one should have passed up this deal, addicted or obsessed or not... right? Right?

Here's what's really cool. Both machines are Nishijin Type C's and have identical mechanics with different center targets! The 'Monkey' one has an expiration sticker of 54/12 so I'm guessing they are both 1977 models. The 'Seven Dwarfs' one looks to me to be a 'non authorized' Disney SW&7D theme although it's on a cell with a sea horse and shells that I've seen before with other themes.

After a few hours of work (OK.. 8) I've got the 7D one up and running and now just need to clean the cell and face. The center target is pretty cute. As the balls fall "Dopey's" head bobbles to and fro and different pockets below open.

I suspect the Monkey machine will take about the same work but the time required will be a bit shorter as I already know the machine now!

I'm not addicted! I'm not obsessed! Right?

    WELCOME TO PACHITALK, SHANKEY!

I think most of us here are a bit obsessed with our pachinkos. But, I think that for addictions, it's not a bad one... it's not out chasing girls, wasting hundreds at a casino or racetrack, drinking at a bar... & at least the wife knows where I am... in the kitchen/shop tinkering with "just one more" pachinko.

I officially gave my mother-in-law one of the restored single shots tonight for her birthday, and she was really excited. so, maybe another pachinko person will develop?

the mechanicals and trying to restore the wood and face are great fun/challenges... kinda like restoring an old car or motorcycle to some people, but cheaper.

also, hunting for that "great buy" is part of the fun, too. gotta like a good sale, right?

you are right, though, that "a deal is a deal", and I would have had to call home before showing up with another one, too.

i have to say i must have it a little bit easier?? just a little

my wife understand and i would not have to call home first.. but when i do come home with another pachi i do get the crook eye and sometimes a foot tammping

but she is amazing and understands that i always get a good deal and like every one says in is usualy inexpensive "like restoring a car" but a whole lot less money

i think if rusty made a promis then he should answer for it but ... well ill stop right there before i get myself into trouble too
