Bally S5500 Questions

My brother got a slot machine as a raffle price the other day, and were having a small issue with it. We have quarter like coins (chuckecheese type of coins), with the one in the coin comparator. The machine registeres the coin when we drop it in, but when it comes to paying out, the tumbler just spins with the coins ibn it, but none actually come out below in the drop tray.

Also, we don't have a manual for this. Does anyone have manual online that we can view for this? Its a Bally S5500 model (per the sticker inside the door).

Also, my brothers just yanked the batteries out, and now he is stuck with the 83 F error. Anychance the jumper clear will work, or do we need the chips?

you can try the jumper clear but most likely you will have to use the chips. Bally phased out the jumper clear option because there was not to many instances it was useful.
As far as the hopper if the wheel is turning sounds like the knife might need to be replaced or its the wrong denom, take some of pictures of the hopper , use a quarter or token in the pictures so I can get a sense of scale. I need to see the wheel, shelf and knife. where are you located?
