Default Just got my first machine

After watching Ebay and reading through the forums here I bought a machine. I really wanted to get a Jet Set Radio one off of Ebay but they kept going to high. Went into the local discount store Marcs and they had some machines today.

Bought a Club Rodeo with 200 tokens for $160 after tax and with no shipping I thought it was a good deal. Now all I have to do is figure out where to put it and start playing.

Decent price on it, you will want to get some additional tokens for it. As far as where to put it, you can figure that out later, right now, play with it.

I need to get more tokens, I had to open it a few times to put more in once the credits hit their limit of 50 and you win. I might have to take it back since it didn't have the reset/level setting key it in. It seems to be missing. Does anyone know since they had another rodeo up there if the reset key should be the same? Maybe I can go make a copy of the other key?

The other key would probably work.

The reset keys I have found to be the same for the same model & machine.
Alot the key is the same for all their models of that year.

Did you check every ware in the machine? They can drop out of the lock from shipping to the store and on the way home.

Looked all over the inside of the machine and no key. I will have to go back to the store on Monday and try and get the other key.

Thanks for the help, but I didn't find a key. I plan on trying to get one from the store later today. If they sold the other Club Rodeo, I will return the machine or maybe exchange this is where I need help. They also had a Don Don King and a Babel for the same price which is $160, are either of them also a good deal?

Both sound fair... the DDK probably the best deal of the three, from what we're hearing around here.

In my opinion either the babel or the DDK woudl be a better choice than the club rodeo. THey are both no less than deluxe machiens and the club rodeo is more of a standard.

Dumb??? Hell no! You just solved a big mystery for me! I had a screw "disappear" and I spent a LONG time looking for that darn thing. Tore the machine apart, spent a lot of time crawling around on the floor and looking under everything, warned my family to keep a sharp eye out for it and more. The screw was just nowhere to be found.

Well, you know where this is going!

Just now ran down and took a look, and hidden and hanging on the bottom of the speaker... Thanks, ARBY!!! :smt023

You made this a little Arby true-ism I have found tokens inside the reels just riding around making funny sounds that first I could not find.

The first thing I do with a machine is go thru it tighting all screws, you would be surprised how many are loose or missing, I buy screws (Remember they are Metric) and washer to replace any that are gone. I have even found loose screws in the bottom of the box, just rolling around.

Well they didn't trust me that the other key would work so I got the DDK on an exchange.

    Good Trade.

Reminds me of when Bill Clinton was getting on Airforce One, He told the Marine he got the two razor back pigs under his arms for Hillery.

The Marine said Back "Nice trade Sir!"

you could always replace the reset lock with a toggle switch like some vendors do.

I haven't been able to play the machine yet since my little brother loves the thing.

I have a question about something that is on the inside of the machine. The Club Rodeo didn't have it and in its place was a transformer. The arrow is pointing to what I am wondering about. It seems to be like a basket and in the second picture you can see what appears to be terminals, that have cables going up behind the reels.

Here is a picture of the machine.

It is a token overflow basket, put cardboard in the bottom so the tokens don't fall thru. and you are all set.

When you get more tokens in the hopper than it can hold, they overflow into the holding basket. Cool Huh.

There are usually 2 metal prongs that extend from the back of the machine into the overflow bin. When the tokens get high enough and touch the prongs, the tokens complete a circuit and the pachislo goes into an error mode, displaying a code on the front that tells you to emply the overflow bin.

In parlors most of the machines have overflow bins with the bottom punched out and a matching hole in the bottom of the machine. This lets the overflow token drop into a larger container (or maybe even an automated token collection device).

So the post above is correct, just put a piece of cardbard in the bottom of the overflow bin. You don't want to permanently seal it. If you lose a key you can usually get your hand in through that hole to open the door from the inside. That's why you use cardboad. You can just push it out of the way.
