What exactly does a battle counter do?

A battle counter keeps track of how many spins of the video you have had, for the day, and all of the wins on the machine for a few days.
And it puts on a nice light show! That is just a couple of its functions.

Slightly more - above but also the same info for the last couple of days
Complicated - above, plus a graphic representation of how many spins between bonuses, and for 5 days.
