Default How do you play Pachislo?

The poll is to figure out who plays with skill and who just hits the buttons.

I can stop the first two reels usually anywhere I want, but the third is the one that gets tricky!

The third one is the reel the machine is slipping the most. You've got to be sneaky to get that one. Most people after they miss the 1st or 2nd will just press the third wherever. Continue to try and hit on that third one. When you miss one of the first two, it's a lot easier to hit that third one. These machines are  they know when to slip and when to not bother with it.

Here's a related question. When you're in "chance" play (that is, the machine is telling you it's about time to hit a bonus) you seem to have more control over stopping the reels where you want to.

The obvious thing to do is to try and stop on the 7s. But is that the right way to play? Yes, you do get a big bonus, but then you are out of "chance" mode. Maybe you should try hitting lower payouts, like Bells, to keep chance mode going as long as possible. As long as you're winning more than you're spending, it seems that this would maximize your payback. Sooner or later you end up missing the bells and hitting the 7s (or the machine just forces that to happen), so you still end up collecting on the Big Bonus.

The only downside I can see is that sometimes you might end up with a regular bonus instead and get a smaller payback.

    Any thoughts?

I think it depends on the type of machine being played and whether it's set to reset after a bonus round. On the Thunderbirds, I would go for the 7's and collect, when you finish this one often throws you back into it's thunder chance round.

I like the finger eye methed, you get the slip down and wow you can control it pretty good.

They are truely a skill machine, a chance machine depending how you want to play. That is what is so fine. It like playing chess against the machine or a taste of Vagas

I see why the Japanese see this as a great way to export a product that is Japanese, not a rework of a USA product. But a true Japanese product.
(I know it might have came from the corinthin pinball, but it is so far removed) But the home enteranment is big.

I don't know which poll answer to pick...
There are times that I'll just stop anywhere... especially when I know the machine has already determined what I'll see after the first press (Sapp, Hyakkei, and others give these "clues").
Other times, I'll eye-shoot. I'm getting pretty good on this with the Sapp.

I find the fun in these machines in the attempt to stop the reels where wanted. I rarely just hit the buttons randomly. Sure, sometimes the slip is pre-determined by the machine, but I still work at it. I like to set the odds at 2 or 3 and then try to win more over time than the machine takes in.

I play mine backwards because the first reel has a first reel cherry payout. So, when I mess up the first two I at least get 2 out of 3 back.
Sometimes I have to push it 2 or three times to get it to stop where I want it. I agree it seems to let the first wheel stop easier on the bonus round (stops first press then). On most machines the "7" is larger than the others and you can look between or right side of the reel and see the point of the 7 go by and strike as it comes in from the top. On my other machines the "7" and the bar are on one side of the wheel and it gets darker when it goes by but that machine has a small lotus flower first reel payout and is hard to catch.

That's where I am. I just picked the first choice to look impressive. I TRY to shoot all the time...I can usually get the first reel where I want. Second about the same. The third is beyond my control. Like Tulsa said, it knows which reel to slip and when. If I go backwards, I can shoot the third reel somewhat reliably, the middle ok, but not the first.

All of the above at times. most of mine have multiple 777 on first reel or sindbads my fav for this is spin luck it will pay on 7 bell bell. Often if it press on the 7's then it will pay a bell bonus or replay more often. interesting that a replay is worth more than a single cherry, 3 free vs 2 back.

Thats exactly my answer too. I eye shoot during bonuses and when I'm in a win mode. Other times I just hit buttons untill I line up 2 sevens, then I will try and eye shoot the third.

On the few occasions I am tempted to play a Pachislo,
I feel it is my duty to try Eyeshooting......

Otherwise I get bored just stopping the buttons randomly......

I find most success is with Don Chan 2......
