Would that type of lock work with the nice fancy front plate I have on this Sanyo?? as I really don't want to lose that...

Also, I notice from another thread, courtesy of Compirate, that this pachinko actually dates from 1974 and not 1976 as I previously thought...

let me know if you need a microswitch or two. I orderd some from the surplus store and have extras. especially since we know the post from my house to yours is quicker than the post within the U.S. sometimes!

the hole in front trim piece may have to be slightly enlarged with a round file,so the lock will fit.when the lock is installed, the head of the lock will overlap where you filed it,and it will look good.the wood part of the machine should not have to be enlarged.

Thank you! I am now working on it after getting one of the others going.

Here's a closer pic. Yes, those are actual pockets. Kinda cool. The spin action adds to the overall attraction. Interesting to see the pin placement on the two. Seems like it's quite easy to just add additional 'action' on the playfield. Too cool.

Haven't done anything else to the Sanyo lately due to work stuffs and having family to stay recently...

But there are still a couple of things to sort, one of them is the lock which I believe I have managed to source from a nice PT'er

The other thing is the crack in the top playtray

It's not that noticeable and we have been playing it no problem, but the top tray is quite delicate and I worry that a lot of pachinko balls rattling against it or an over enthusiastic player might break the cracked part clean off

You can see the small crack in the pic, I am hoping it will take kindly to a little glueing

I've used model cement type glue on the plastics in the back, but anywhere that might need a bit of movement, to not crack through the repair, I use GOOP.

if there's not a lot of stress on the crack, the model glue or a little crazy glue gently applied from the INSIDE (so it doesn't show) and drawn into the crack would work, too.

isn't it great having an extended, international, pachi family?

some day we need to have a pachi reunion somewhere. maybe we could book a cheap set of rooms on a cruise ship and all meet there - do a lecture tour and "meet the pro's" trip... even ship some pachi's to work on while on the ship! now that would be my dream vacation... sun, ocean, pachi's, pachitalkers...

maybe if we all each brought one working pachi with us,we could set them all up as a pachinko parlor, and take turns playing them.that would be fun!!!

or, we could put up our parlor and let other cruise ship guests "gamble" on our machines for prizes (and help defray the cost of our trips, too!)
