Default hanabi hyakkei volume mod questions

Has anyone modified a hanabi hyakkei with L-Pads? I have the L-Pads, but man, the speakers are VERY hard to get to in this model and they are VERY loud.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks. ~spooner

If you're using an L-pad then you can just follow the wire and cut it at any convenient point.

Hi Spooner. Good to see you here. Thanks again for the information, but if you read my other post you will see that the problem is back.

I agree with Tulsa, you should be able to get to the wires where they connect to the sound board. A quick snip and some extra wire and you are good to go.

Thanks for the advice ... there is not much slack to play with so I think I will have to start unscrewing things.

Sorry about your problem returning ... I guess the elves got tired. I can't help but think your problem is cause by a bad connection somewhere ... dirty contacts, a short in a wire, etc.

I wish I had more for you.

    Thanks again. ~spooner

Thanks for the links but my problem is not really with how to connect the L-Pads, but rather how to get to the speaker wires. I was trying to avoid vivisecting the machine; but alas, it appears to be my destiny since the neighbors are complaining.

Thanks again for the advice. ~spooner

The wires sure can be a PITA... but take a look here. Just get yourself ready for a few hours of trouble and if you approach things that way, you should be in good shape!

Default just a hint on the l-pad mod for the hanabi hyakkei

Thanks for the link slotter ... it inspired me to spend some time with a screwdriver. I ended up taking the circuit board off the top inside of the door (between the two speakers) and was able to trace the route of the wires. It turns out that the wires run down to the amp board on the bottom of the inside door. The wires have plenty of slack there so that is where I will tap in.

I learn something new every day around here!

    Thanks again. ~spooner
