Default anyone added lights to sophia B, right side of cell?

    hi again.

I did finally have to take the whole back of the sophia B down to get to all the grease in the trackways. But, while I was looking around, I noticed 2 bulb holder clips on the left side of the back that line up with the red clear plastic on the front, right side.

so, has anyone drilled a couple holes to add lights in that area?

it is thick plywood, but i've drilled through in adding tulips before.

were those lights used in another model?

this one is 1973, with the boar face.

my "B" models have lights there (looks like lego bricks), must just be on some models.

    thanks for checking.

after I posted this, I realized that I could search vintage pachinko and ebay and the forums for pix of the back of other people's B machines, and sure enough, there are some that are drilled through with a slot for lights.

i'll have to decide if it's worth the trouble of drilling through. it might be easier to sneak a few LEDs from the side, under the lego blocks...

I've added lights there and in the shooter area. If you going to do it with LED's then I would just go through the back. Just be careful when you punch throught the wood that you don't drill into the plastic.

thanks for the hint. you are right that drilling a hole for an LED would be smaller than drilling for an E10 bulb.

do you know if the center of the bracket on the back lines up with the red plastic circles? or maybe I should drill from the front to back instead, if it's easy to get the legos off.

On one of my machines, I have a light in the area you are speaking of that was there originally. I think they just used the same basic back pieces on differernt models and thus you have the mount brackets and no holes. On the machine that has the light originally, the bracked lines up perfectly with the red plastic (lego) area.

    Good luck!

    excellent. thanks for the info.

I will drill dead center of the plastic holder, just large enough to push an LED though to the front... more lights, more fun, eh?

Get a good old fashion electric bell, they used those in the parlors too, back in the day.
