Default New Owner - MAny questions

I just bought a Final Battle pachinko game and have a few questions...

There is a single digit LED above the LCD screen that cycles very quickly. Sometimes it shows an 'H', sometimes a '-'. What does this display mean?

There are two pockets labeled 'GATE'. When a ball goes thru there, currently nothing happens. This leads to the next point...

There is a secret door labeled 'Final Battle'. This door never seems to open. Is this supposed to be triggered by a ball going into the ''GATE' pocket above?

There are very few lights lit on the playfield. Is this supposed to be the case?

I managed to find a switch that turns the volume down, but not down far enough. Any instructions on how to lower the volume more?

Thank you for all the help!!

    Rob

Have you tried opening the door and putting balls through the gates to see what happens.? The final gate opens during a fever. Which is triggered by events happening in a certain order. I do not have this machine, but most machines follow a familiar pattern.

Firstly pictures would be very useful. There is no pachinko with the name 'Final Battle' in my list of games made by Daiichi (going back to 2002) and doing an internet search for the name doesn't turn up any results either. So it's going to be difficult to give anything but generic advice without knowing what machine it's for.

It's likely that 'Final Battle' is just the name given to it by a vendor who was incapable of translating the real name of the pachinko, and just picked up on the only English words on the playfield.

In general a single digit LED display on the playfield of an LCD machine will just be there to show the status of the game to parlour attendants, but it could also be part of the subroulette or some other gameplay function.

The pass through gates are usually there to trigger the subroulette. This will cause an indicator on the playfield (usually two LED lamps or something on the LCD, often a circle and a cross but can also be two other symbols linked to the theme of the game) to rapidly alternate for a short time. If they finish on the winning symbol, then the wings protecting the lower start pocket will open for about half a second. You can usually have up to four 'spins' of the subroulette banked for when you hit the pass through gate while it is still in progress.

If this game is a 'Fever' style machine (most common with LCD screen machines), then the Final Battle door will only open once you get into a Fever mode, this is achieved when you match three symbols on the screen. You 'spin' the symbols when a ball hits the start pocket (in the centre immediately below the LCD screen).

Most pachinkos don't have a lot of playfield illumination, there will be several LEDs placed in and around the plastic mouldings on the playfield, but there are not usually any illuminated inserts like you would find on a pinball machine. Most of the lighting effects you will see on a pachinko machine will come from the lamps mounted on the frame.

Most pachinko volume controls are switchable from loud -> very loud -> insanely loud. Parlours are very noisy places, so there is no need for them to have any quiet settings. If you search these forums for 'Volume control' there are plenty of threads discussing the relative merits of the various options you have for reducing the volume of your machine.
