Default Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas

    Hi all,

I'm new to the world of pachislo. I picked up a machine titled (I think) "Welcome to Fabulous las Vegas." So far, I'm enjoying it, but (like most of them) this one is in Japanese, and the manual that came with it is almost, but not entirely useless.

If anyone can help me figure out which model I have and point me to a manual that can explain the video modes, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    -Elliott

    Welcome to PachiTalk Elliott!!

Is it possible you could post a pic of your pachislo, as I'm sure this will help the members to offer you some information on your model

    Sure,

Here are a couple of pics.

also, the game play seems to be largely centered around a guy on a train. Every now and then, there's a random bonus which usually give the player 3 bells, or 3 Japanese symbols that result in a free spin.

There are some game modes that seem to involve competition between a guy and a girl in ping pong, mah jongg, or something in a hot spring.

As for the internals of the machine, the volume control is on a board to the left of the reels, and there are two speakers - one on either side of the LCD - in addition to a third one locted behind the hopper.

Thanks again for anything you can tell me.

    Custom, eh?

We ordered it through Sears.com, and the model that arrived looks different from the one that *used* to be on Sears's website. The one we thought we were getting had no video display, but it's a cool feature, so it's no problem. I'm pretty sure the Vegas theme has nothing to do with the rest of the machine. again, that's OK too, I jsut wanna know more about how it works/plays.

Thanks for the pictures. The name of your machine is Mahjong Story. The belly glass was removed and replaced with that Las Vegas glass. I'll try and find you a picture of the correct glass and any info we have on it in the research center.

Ah Chris... looks like we were strolling through the research center together!

srwebman...just a few more posts and the research center will be open for you too. No doubt you will have fun with your machine! We, in general, think these machines are great in their original form and hate it when they are sold under false pretenses to the uninformed.

Thanks, guys. This is a great start. I'm gonna see if I can track down an actual model name, and some direction on how the machine actually works.

The company I bought it from seems to know very little, and they're willing to share even less (5stardeal.com are the people who provide tech support). I think I'll have better luck with my fellow machine owners online.

yeah, swapping out the belly glass is uncool. The good side is that it looks like I got a neat machine here that I might otherwise have ignored since I was looking for a Las Vegas/casino theme.

If there's any information I can add to the research center once i track it down, I'd be more than happy to.

even with the custom bellyglass, it looks like you got a pretty good machine.

most customs are made with cheaper pachislos or ones with bad video screens or boards.

Perhaps if you could get a replacement belly glass or can enlarge a pic of one to use, then you could restore this Pachislo back to how it should be
the good news is that it has it's video and screen, a lot of customs have had those stripped out

Sounds like a really interesting theme

Then again, you could just enjoy it the way it is, nothing wrong with that!

Since the manuals are so elusive, many members take it upon themselves to play and play and play... and then share a review of what they have learned.

I have never really done that, but have enjoyed reading others' immensely.

Maybe the bells glass is still intact, 5star might have just put a sticker over the original. it might be worth looking into, there are babes on this machine

Thanks for all your help, guys. It looks like I'll have to be the pioneer as far as getting gameplay info online. It would be eaiser if I knew Japanese. Unfortunately, the heiwa site uses all graphics/flash, not text, so the Google translator is no help. The site is fun to look at, though.

If I come up with anything interesting about this machine, I'll be sure to post it.

so like I said in my fiorst post, I'm new to Pachislo, but I can't help but notice that this machine looks all sad and alone all by itself. It has room for at least two siblings...

(my wife is gonna kill me)
