Default Pachinko Predictions: What Happens in 2005

OK, I don't have an inside track on what's in those shipping containers that Republic Industries or other importers are getting from Japan. I do believe the games we will begin to see in the next 3 months are going to make us salivate like we have a case of rabies.

I have dusted off my crystal ball and predict the following.

    1. More games will feature anime characters.

    2. Games featuring licensed movie themes will continue to bring embarrassingly high prices.

    3. Anything with naked or almost naked women will sell even if the game board had only one pin on the playfield.

    4. A Star Wars pachinko game will bring over $1500 on eBay.

    5. Texasauction will begin using video clips to enhance their sales pitch.

    6. Pachinko sales will increase as states begin to shut down pachislo machine sales because the machines can be easily converted to accept quarters.

    7. Milt finally sees the light and makes a commitment to get serious about selling pachinkos.

    8. Someone begins selling plans on eBay for a high speed pachinko ball lifter utilizing a modified Poulan chainsaw.

    9. Pachitalk.com opens up its own pachinko and pachislo auction site.

    10. Pachitalk.com hits 500,000 posts after Arbycoffee installs 20 voice and thought recognition computers so every thought he has and sounds he make are instantly translated into pachitalk forum posts.

    That's it for me.

Anyone else care to add their own list of predictions?

Not bad for a amateur , but you're off on one thing.

    10. Pachislo machines get to be hotter than ever as people that have been working on mods over the last year come up with ways to edit the sounds/music on the machines and enable complete credit play without needing any tokens to play or pay out.

Both mods open up whole new worlds...

    Zcore :

Well with the new NY Yankees Pachislos coming out now on Ebay all they would need to do is a CHicago Cub Pachislo and put the song "take me out to the ball game" and have it pay out in tokens with Harry Caray's pic on them ! You know everyone in Chicago would buy one of those ! Maybe also throw in a voice chip with Harry Caray's voice saying "and a one and a two and a ..take me.." And don't forget the :

    Sad note:
Pachislo outlawed in 5 more states this year.

The gaming people don't want you to get your fix at home where they don't make any money.

Arby isn't that unbelievable ? Now whats next...the little toy nickle and dime slots piggy banks ?

Do you think it may have been spurred on by people advertising these as "Rare + Real" Slot Machines that can/do accept quarters?

Another hmmm is why Bidz.com allows that dealer to advertise that they have been converted to take quarters and Ebay doesn't allow that.... :!:

They aren't really seen by those doing the bitzhing, If they would see them, thing would hit them too.

The more states depend on gambling money, the more they will crack down on thing that will pull it away, ie. Pachislo you can get your fill at home. They don't want that, they want you already paid taxes on money.

States are a very hungery beast.

Probality the best thing for Pachislo is the tokenless Machine, No nothing in and No nothing out, total a TOY. Because that will not interest very maney people at all, look how many when they get their first machine. The first thing "how do I convert this to quarters ?" "How to put on a bandit arm and stop chip ?"

That is what is going Kill PACHISLO, you watchÂ… I only hope I am wrong.

I wonder if Arizona will be next to ban Pachislos ? It's wide open here for now but you are right in that the states want more tax revenue from gambling. It will be interesting to see if Arizona does ban Pachislos as right now Slot Machines are totally legal for home use. I have heard though that some attempt is going to be made to make Arizona fall in line with the other states since the indian casinos are big tax revenue providers right now.

Arby, I think you're on the right track, the manufacturers should make some pachislo and pachinko machines for the rest of the world and market them as game machines. Like pinball machines, there would be an led scoring readout, player selection, etc. That would be dirt cheap to do, and instead of paying out more balls, only have maybe 20 or 30 balls 'sealed' inside, so you get the effect of playing regular pachinko, but when winning, instead of billions of balls pouring out, you'd get a scoring readout, along with all the sound, action, lights, movies, etc. And if they did this, they could put more in the gameplay, so that there would be several things to do to boost your score, not one big one-for-all bonus. Getting pockets in order, etc., the variety would make the gameplay much more interesting. Heck, maybe put a 'flipper' in there to give your left hand something to do.

I think it would attract even more people to play, as there would be more to do. With the Japanese talent for making little mechanical things that spin, bounce, turn, bob, etc., pachinko machines, in the words of the mega-salesman Curtis, would be better than pinball!

    John
