    Default just gifted unsual "arepechi"?

My steps sons father in law knows i have a few Pachinko's... actually i have 20 now... shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell my wife she would have a stroke..

any hoooo he showed up with one today and i have never seen any thing like it before..

my first search for "jan ball pachinko" landed me in this forum... good news for me baddddddddddd news for u all... no im not from the south

on the face it is labeled "MEIYU" the brand machine? i would guess it to be called a jan ball "target"

after getting it open and removing the cob webs i released 23 very small "pachinko?" style balls from it...

on the left side of the face there are 5 buttons. the top one is red in color and the 4 below it are yellow in color labled the numbers 4 7 10 13 on each button... on the lower right side of the face the is one red button labeled stop... the play field has the numbered slots on the bottum but the lights in the middle are 4 high and 4 across.. a little different then the others i have seen posted tonight..

now after typing all of that now i have a question?? or two

first what would the power source be?? the power cord appears to have been cut and spliced once already and then what ever kind of end was on it was cut off again.. Is it a simple 110 or do i need some kind of converter?? if so where could i locate one?

second one is what coin will work? quarter nickels and dimes are dropped back threw the face.. "rejected"

i know every one wants to see a picture and ill try and post a pick asap..

Search through Eddie's threads. He owns quite a few arepachis and probably has a model similar to yours. He has also made a number of videos (one is featured on the home page: YouTube - The Taiyo Electron Arepachi Pt1).

Nice machine. Looks to be in great shape.

The Stop Button, stops the game in progress for when your ready to leave or "checkout"

The game would then payout any winnings if any accumulated.

The buttons on the left are for triggering the bonus numbers on the score board when the bonus is activated.

The Token sizes with these machines seem to vary. Check out the token size post

    PachiTalk

to view the different sizes used. In these machines without the correct size token the Coin Mech wont work or could start the machine but will jam within the coin chutes.

The Transformers from what I have dealt with in this type of machine have an output of 2 voltages. Each branching off to different components
I dont remember the exact voltages and I am not home to check.
The input to the transformer can either be 110v or 100v again depending on the machine you may need a 100v converter to use the machine. Most likely if the machine has been in the States or not direct from Japan it will work just fine on 110v.

Just because you found 23 balls in the machine doesnt mean that 23 is the proper number for gameplay. It could be More but I would think less as 16 seems to be the common number in these machines. Again each machine can be different. You may find something visually on the machine that may suggest the proper number or you could have the Faceplate instructions translated.

    thanks for the info Eddie..

do u think it is wise to put a plug on it and plug it in or should there be a transformer??

does any one have an assortment of extra tokens/coins i could buy? so i can see what style and size works.. that way i can try and locate enough to get it playing..i already tried us coins. all apper to be to small and rejected back out the front

i understand what your saying about the 23 balls. just because there inside it now does not mean they belong there.

i really appreciate all the help u can give me.. as i said i have never seen on of these untill i recieved this one.. i hate to sound dumb but after viewing game play on u-tube the last thing i wana do is screw it up by just pluging it in.. hate to fry it right out of the gate

i really think im in over my head (i hate electrical stuff) but i cant give up just yet

    thanks D

i posted a reply already but it didn't show up??

thanks again to eddie for his response..

is there any way of knowing for sure weather it would need a power converter or not? i would hate to burn it up..

does any one know of a location where i can buy a sample of several tokens and or coins to try?? I tryed us coins but all were rejected back out the front of the machine.. once i have an idea then i can get enought to make it work..

i also understand what your saying about the 23 balls just because there in the machine does not mean they belong there... i'm sure the spiders and earwigs that had made it home arn't suposed to be there either

is there some one that knows where i can get the face plate translated

I hate to just try and plug it in... i hate doing electrical work on things

thanks again for any help any one can offer

For translation, need REALLY SHARP pics of anything you want done. Not necessarily huge pictures, just sharp.

When you are posting, you should see a little paperclip icon thingy at the top of the posting tool box

if you can't see it, tick 'go advanced' and it will always be there at the top

Click this and it will allow you to browse your computer to select the pics you want to use, click upload when you have chosen them and you should see them posted

Use "Go Advanced" when replying and you will see a Manage Attachments button. The types of files and size limits are listed there.

I believe you do need to run the electricity through a transformer, to make sure it is DC instead of AC (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The transformer on my arepachi shows 25v 12v and 9v output with 100v input. I'm using a step-down converter (PowerBright VC-100J) to keep the house current from overloading the transformer, but as Eddie says that may not be necessary, depending on the you house current voltage.

I figured out my machine used 16 balls because there were tickmarks on the clear plastic covering the ball loading ramp. The logic was also that there were 16 numbered pockets, so one ball per pocket (like that would ever happen!).

I tried a bunch of foreign coins I had and then measured them to see what size was working. I bought tokens online to match that size (actually I had tokens made, but that's another story).
