cells only?

Does anyone know of retailers/eBayers/the like who sell cells by themselves? Not trying to twist anyone's tongues with my aliteration, but I'd like to buy new games in the future without the added overhead of a complete frame if possible.

Not sure of any Vendors who currently have cells in stock but you could contact a couple and make enquiries, they may be able to include a cell or two in their next shipments??

Either that or Yahoo Japan and use the services of someone like Kia at Key-Eye ( EYE PRODUCT ) to bid and handle all the packing and posting to you

Also sometimes, Members may have cells for sale and will post a thread prior to offering them in the PachiTalk Auction

If you have specific models in mind, like the Lumina framed ones for instance, then you could also state your wants, etc

As long as the 'overhead' is the bulk of an extra frame and not the expense, Japan is the way to go. I haven't seen a seller (other than a private one here and there) that sells individual cels. Sankyo seems to be the best to get cels for, the Lumina is just very recently ending, they made a lot of peoples favorite games for it, and they are one of the top manufacturers, so there are a ton of them out there. Sankyo Lumina Game List, some are harder to get than others (lower production runs).

You can swap cells in pretty much every modern pachinko machine (if you can find the cells available separately).

so would only that list of cells work in that frame? or can i put other ones in there? i was looking to get a Julie in this frame...

Julie would need a Sankyo Lumina frame!!

You can only swap cells that were designed for the Toyotec 'Evolucion' Frame into the Captain Roberts machine. If you want a Julie cell then you have to have a Sankyo 'Lumina' Frame to put it in.

There are very few frames that will work with cells other than those that they were originally sold with, and they are almost exclusively ones that were designed before 2002. Even recent frames like the new Newgin 'Kaze' frame which looks superficially similar to the slightly older Newgin 'Kirameki' frame are not compatible with the older machines cells. Despite the fact that several games sold in the Kaze frame are also available as cell only upgrades for the Kirameki frame. This I suspect will only lead to confusion (and potential disappointment) for anyone wanting to buy a cell for the three games that were released in both frames.

I Assume Sankyo Lumina/Victory, Kyoraku Bigbang & Taiyo Elec Laluz are the best options for getting cells.
