Question New here - Looking for some info...

Good evening all. I just picked up this machine and am looking for some info. Specifically, when it was made and if there are any wiring diagrams available. It has been modified and I would like to get it back to original. I don't believe it has been plugged in for about 20 years. Thanx!

Wow I'm confused about the mods. It looks like they put it in a case and had a way to feed the balls from above. As far as wiring, there are others here that are way more qualified to tell you what's going on there. Anyway,

    welcome!!!

1st Welcome !!! to the DARK SIDE . You have a nice looking machine in what i could see a hand made cabinet . I would recomend removing the brown electric cord with the plug ( 9vdc transistor radio battery are the way to go with 7.5 vdc lamps )

Since the only electronics normally on a machine of this vintage are a couple of lights and switches, remove just about anything else. Would be interested in knowing what the mods do.

Could use a clear pic of the center feature just above the two people, looks to be some writing there.

The label on the back is a factory inspection list, the first three are:

    木工 Carpenter
    釘打 Nail hitting
    絵付 Picture attaching

The round red marks are inspectors names, I believe.

On the front, 平和 is Heiwa or literally 'Peace'

More of the inspection label :

製造 (Production) No 72 検査表 (Log book)

    Left to right:

    木工 (Carpenter)
    釘打 (Nail hitting)
    絵付 (Picture attaching)
    釘検 (Nail inspection)
    ハンドル検査 (Steering wheel inspection)
    組立 (Assembly)
    検査 (Inspection)
    ボックス調整 (Box adjustment)

Having a little trouble with the last one, probably final inspection.

Thanx for the welcomes everyone! Here's some more pics and a little history of the machine...

My wifes father acquired this along time ago. He passed away in 1987 and the basement of his house was his domain. This is where the pachenko machine was located. Until 2005, the basement remained essentially untouched with only my mother in law living in the house. Around 2003 she was diagnosed with altzheimers and in 2005 had to sell the house. I had always had my eye on the machine since I first saw it in 1998 but unfortunately my sis-in-laws partner grabbed it before I could. For the next few years it sat negelected in their car port. Finally over christmas it was given to me.

The machine has obviously been modified and actually has a coin box on the side. Not sure who put it on but it's easy to remove. That's the first thing to go. The rest is cleaning it up a bit and figuring out the wiring! Anyway here's some more pics and any help would be appreciated!

Located in the front behind the glass upper right corner

Not sure what these wires are for???

Someone requested a close up of the front

    Just some inside pics!

Thanx again for the welcomes and the help!

Here's my thoughts. This was an attempt at one time to turn this machine into a 'pay for play' type and removed the need for excess balls. Whether this attempt worked or not is obviously an unknown. But from what I can see, there is a 'counter' on the win ball seesaw (left side of rear machine) that either counts the wins or resets the seesaw after a win or both. If someone wants a pachinko to work with out the 100's of balls, then they will need to make the following modification. The win ball seesaw must be reset after a win is counted. The jackpot seesaw win ball release gate would need to be removed so that the wining balls would just 'fall off' the lever. Some light and/or sound would have to be activitated to indicate a win. The Empty Hopper lever at the top would need to be 'tied down' to prevent the shooter ramps from being blocked. The loading ramp lever just prior to the jackpot area would have to be 'tied down' to prevent blockage of the jackpot release lever.

Here's my suggestion. Before you 'disassemble' the components, take each on of the steps listed above and compare to your machine's components. Then make a note of what was done to accomplish the desired modificatin. THEN take out each mod one at a time and test the results. I would start with the jackpot lever win ball gate, then the seesaw counter/reset (at which time you will start to need more balls), then the loading ramp lever and lastly the empty hopper mod.

Or, you can repair/finish the mods and make it work with out a large number of balls.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

wow! that's quite a modded machine.

as someone that likes to do mods, could you check a few things for me?

    1) what is the power cord connected to? it's probably a transformer, then where does that go?

    2) could you take a couple pictures that include the stuff around the edges of the original frame?

I can see the funnel at the bottom, i'm wondering where the balls are going... was there just a tray below that?

how were the balls filled from the top?

    3) how is the coin-op part done? what's in the box to the right, of the picture from the back?

    4) the switches a the upper lift are stock, I think.

    5) the extra switches are what I'm interested in the most. wonder if they go to extra lights? then the cylindrical thing by the payout rocker - is that a way to stop play, or a counter, as rusty suggested?

    6) what does the extra brown string from the payout rocker, around the cup hook, and up to the jackpot mechanism do? i'm guessing this triggers or stops the jackpot arm?

    someone was very creative here!

I could spend hours figuring this one out, and I would probably leave it the way that it is, as a specially modded pachinko (especially since there are holes drilled into the plastic)

hey, you wanna trade pachinko's? I would be intrigued by the challenge of yours.

I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

Not sure what the second symbol in the center part is, I know it looks like a '7' but I don't think it is, it's just the font style that makes it look like that (check the previous symbol - ア - has the same hard lines). My guess is - アスレチック which is "Athletic".

Now the label in the upper right corner:

    検定証 (Official approval proof)
    登録第 (Register)
    号 (Number)
    設置Installation 年 Year 月Month 日Day (Showa 52 - yours - 12/14/1977)
