Default Dragon Dice Disaster from Pachislo.com

Got my Dragon Dice in today from pachislo.com (American Syscom). Was very disappointed in its condition. It looked as if it were pulled of the floor of a casino, shipped here and just delivered to me. After opening it up, I found one of the dice at the top of the machine was missing a screw and was all cockeyed. The screw was floating around in the electronics. Also, there was a token just banging around inside the machine.

The plastic cover over one circuit board had all 4 screws literally ready to drop out. None were tightened up. :-?

The hopper was out of its rack and just banging around and it got pretty nicked up. I had to use a file to take off the banged up edges.

I find it hard to believe this was EVER checked considering the coin slot was so corroded that I was unable to even put a token in! Also, the outside was extremely filthy with cigarette smoke, etc. The ashtray still had smashed out ashes in it! Those dirty towels in the picture are from the outside only. Haven't started on the inside yet.

Before setting about cleaning it up, I did test the machine to see if it even worked and it does seem all right. I did have to clean the corroded coin slot before even testing it. A coin wouldnÂ’t even drop through.

HavenÂ’t had a chance yet to make sure everything works. The dice did spin and the obvious lights do light up, but havenÂ’t spent time yet on it. Will give it a workout later today. ItÂ’s looking a lot better after going over it and giving it some cleaning. Am hoping it wonÂ’t have to go back.

I was very surprised by the condition this vendor allowed this machine to ship out in as had certainly expected better. Perhaps, the machine is just an exception. Everyone can have a bad day, I suppose? :smt102

Wow, while my Giga Fever came broken it was very clean.

I wonder if they have just had it a while and forgot to clean it? How is the paint job on the sides?

That's just not right! I hope they will somehow make it up to you. Have you spoken with them about the condition of your machine? Keep us posted on your outcome. Sometimes things go wrong for whatever reason, let's just hope this vendor will take care of you. Generally, that's how I rate companies, not on the smooth transactions, but on the problem ones. In the end, if everything works out then you will be happy.

I will let you know they gave me a FULL refund including shipping, but when asked for compensation if I just kept it they said $30 (needless to say in my case it went back). So don't hope for much, but since everything seems to be in place other than being cleaned $30 would be fair for your janitorial duties....

There is a language barrier so maybe you can get some tokens or something out of it.

Another way to determine if it was checked out is to see if the volume controls have been installed. They do this on all their machines. If you don't have them then you know.

No, I haven't contacted them yet. Am ticked off and will wait until in a better mood to call them. I really didn't think it would even operate after seeing that coin slot. Someone signed off on lights, etc. on the inside from American Syscom, btw.

To get a token to work, I had to use a screwdriver and literally chisel out the green corrosion in there. It looked like it might have got salt sprayed during its trip to the U.S. to make it that corroded. Just can't understand how they could let this leave like that. The coins still don't go through smoothly and will need to work on it some more.

Yeha thats uncalled for, they usually dont come like that from there! As for the loose screw on the dice, that happens alot. Ive shipped two of them and both had a screw come loose on the dice. I guess the holes are too big or soemthing. Also the tokens that was bouncing around probably came loose during shipping. Ive found tokens in the strangest places in these machines. When I took my power supply out of the spin luck there were 5 tokens under it, they were very brown and dirty. Probably had been there for awhile. Ive even seen tokens stuck behind some of the boards in these machines, its crazy how they get in some of those places!

David, yes, the volume controls ARE there. And the case has been painted.

Maybe it just missed the final cleaning and check over? My guess is the loose screws all over inside were because someone was cleaning or working on it and then just didn't finish. :-?

I had to widen a hole in the back to get the electrical plug out the back as they must have patched up the original hole for the plug or put a larger plug on the cord... That was no big deal, though.

I just wrote them an email saying basically what I posted here and I attached the pictures (larger ones than posted here, btw, if they need to look more closely).

The plastic on the outside is much more scratched up than on the machines I've gotten from GrandView and from Milt, btw. Am going to have to use some elbow grease and some plastic polish on that... And, I certainly don't expect them to be like brand new.

I do still need to give the machine a workout to make sure it's not defective in some way and the inside needs to be cleaned up, too.

On mine, instead of running the cord out the hole near the power supply, I ran it through a larger hole in the middle of the back. But, if you really want to run it through the small hole, you need to unplug the cord from the power supply and feed the small end in from the back, then reconnect it.

i bought my 30 pai sea god from them,

the transformer was mounted to far over and the hopper didn't fit,

i had to move the transformer.

and the power cord they put on the machine was 3 feet long.

i had to use an extension to get it to my power strip

They do seem to be going down hill. I understand they moved to a bigger facility. Looks like they're growing to fast. The first few machines I got from them were perfect. More recent ones were not as clean.

I bet they've got a bunch of cheap labor working on them who just don't care.

That middle hole I'm guessing you are referring to, was covered with some thin wood and painted over. All I had were the smaller holes.

I already had a wood file handy since the hopper needed to have the flattened out edges repaired and it only took a minute to widen one of the small back holes a couple of millimeters to get the plug through.

I just did a run through and got into bonus mode and it seems to be working fine!  The dice at the top don't always line up... in other words, one die sits a bit crooked, while the other one faces straight out. Wonder if that is typical??

Also, wonder if the die are supposed to light up much? I have a video of them dancing and really lighting up. When it went to bonus, I saw a couple of lights shining down on them and then nothing after that.

After some trial and error messing with the dice I found there is a plastic "stick" with a gear on either end on each die. I found that if I popped the bottom end of this gear stick out and turned the mis-aligned die a a couple of notches and then popped the gear back in place I was able to get it re-aligned.

    Updated on the DD machine:

To give Pachislo.com some credit. I have received an email back apologizing for the problems and since they donÂ’t have any more of the Dragon Dice machines, they offered me 500 tokens to help offset my problems. Well, IÂ’d much rather have gotten a clean and working machine in, but at least they are trying to make things right. :-)

I also told them that I’m not happy with the bad, corroded coin insert slot and they are going to send me another one. They asked (strangely enough) for the old one back and I told them “sure.” :-?

Anyhow, they are trying to make things right. Any business can have occasional problems and since theyÂ’ve been good in the past, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I am glad they are making things right.

They fixed my problems. In fact, I ordered a reel to replace mine on my Giga Fever from them since I knew the one I sent back was good.

Now I just have to settle up my the dealer I bought my second one from!
