Default Hair line sratches on plexi glass

I have some pachislo's that have hair line scratches on the plexi glass. I always use a soft cotton rag to clean them. Is there any other way to clean the dust or are the scratches part of the plexi glass production.

The scratches are only visible when viewing them at certain angles.

I use Brillianize Plastic Cleaner on all of my own machines and custom machines. Its perfect for repelling dust, finger prints, static and scratches. I was using Novus 3 step process, but was never really satisfied with the results. Brillianize is a one step spray and you will need a soft cloth like one you would use on a LCD screen to buff it. I do not work for this company, its just a really good product!

TO remove the scratches from Plexi you have two solutions.

1 Use Novus #2 or for really deep scratches #3 polish. They have an abrasive for Plastics. To get them to work right you must rub enough to get the surface a little warm and may have to do this in steps.

2 Use a propane torch and swiftly PASS it over the scratches Do not hold the torch in one place or area for any amount of time. Just make PASSES one or two at a time then allow the plexi to cool completely then repeat until scratches disappear.

Finish each method with a polish of Brillianeze

I recommend the Novus products too. If the scratches are too deep or the result after Novus #2 and #1 is little bit dim you can try careful flame polishing. It is a bit risky and you can ruin your plexi with that method if not careful!!

Texas Pinball have good instructions and small video about flame polishing pinball ramps:

Videos I found from YouTube were about slow flame polishing edges of cut plexi glass. Don't move the torch that slowly! Just like Eddie said, fast passes and check the result after each pass. Keep the plexi at flat, non flammable surface. It may bend if it gets too hot. Propane torch with automatic ignition is handy.

I have a few of the hairline scratches on Sindbad and Mumu world. It use to drive me crazy. They were so lite that yiu couldn't feel it on the surface but it would slightly distort the video when viewed at the right angle. I used novus #2 over and over but it still remained. It doesn't bother me anymore and no one else notices it anyway.
