My most recent purchase was a Nishijin Single Shot. Besides being dusty and dirty, I found this in the 'spare jackpot' area of the machine.

I suspect it was from a salemander and / or Gecko.

OK, maybe not so strange, but definitely not compatible to the ball track.
A valentine candy heart, really nasty looking once pulled.
    It was wedged tight!

I bought these two machines, with cabinets, for $125.
This one was "broken", so it is now my first "fix". LOL

Even though I only work on vintage machines, I have found nothing odd yet. Just dead insects. However, I have worked on a lot of arcade games and found some interesting stuff inside of them. A few of the highlights:
    - A family of field mice in a Gauntlet cabinet
    - A carburetor in a Street Fighter 2 cabinet
    - Dead snakes in an Asteroids cabinet – yeah, that one was out of the house quick
    - 2000 yen in 100 yen coins in a cigarette machine (baffled on this one)
    - A car radio in a Neo Geo 4 slot

Man I love those fixes. I recently purchased two pachislos. One was broken and wouldn't power up when plugged in. The fix was to open it and flip the internal power switch to on. lol

Not exactly sure what it is. Looks like poo with hair. It wasn't interfering with ball travel.

Here's a strange one. A dart shaft stuck in the payout infeed of Fever Crazy Combat. Of course it had to be in the back track. Note the front track cover is off.

Slightly off-topic but, I once bought a Moog synthesizer from an old music store. Got it super-cheap because it was out of tune and would not tune at all (had 2 oscillators that wouldn't tune to each other across the notes).

Started to clean it up and found 4 "vent holes" on the back. Realized they weren't vent holes but were access holes to trim potentiometers on the main board. Got access to the main board and saw them labelled - "OSC A - Tune"
    "OSC A - Scale"
    "OSC B - Tune"
    "OSC B - Scale"

Took about 2 minutes with a cheap-o guitar tuner to get both oscillators tuned up and scaled properly!

I still own this synth...and it's still in PERFECT tune!

Can you send John the pics or give him the link. I don't think he knows what had been hiding in some of those.

So, here's how this will work. Rules:

    1. Anything that is not supposed to be in a pachine machine can be submitted.
    2. Photo of the object is required, extra cudos given for photos of the object in the location it was found.
    3. Some text must be included describing what it is (if known), how you found it and your first reaction when you found it.

    Rewards:
I will give a 'PachiTalk gift' to each submission that is the first submission of it's kind. Submissions of duplicate items may also receive a 'gift' if there is sufficient documentation that makes it unique or the comments about it's discovery is 'entertaining'.

I will be giving the gifts and therefore that makes me the judge on those duplicated items. I'll be fair, but if you feel that the submission warrants a gift, please feel free to award a gift of your own!

Good luck and I look forward to all the wierdness this thread has the potential to generate!

(We are a wierd bunch after all!)
Mud Wasp Nests or something like that.

I thought it was dirt or sand that was dumped into the machine. My reaction upon seeing the nests was to be worried something would hatch in my basement. I think the nests are empty but I threw them out regardless, after taking the pictures. I don't think this machine would work with the see saw frozen! The main dump chute was completely blocked off.
