Exclamation Strange, Unusual and gross finds in machines.

OK, after reading recent posts about the things found in old machines I thought I would start a thread dedicated to these objects. I placed this thread in the vintage forum as the older machines tend to be ones most affected by this phenomenon (did I spell that right?).

So, here's how this will work. Rules:

    1. Anything that is not supposed to be in a pachine machine can be submitted.
    2. Photo of the object is required, extra cudos given for photos of the object in the location it was found.
    3. Some text must be included describing what it is (if known), how you found it and your first reaction when you found it.

    Rewards:
I will give a 'PachiTalk gift' to each submission that is the first submission of it's kind. Submissions of duplicate items may also receive a 'gift' if there is sufficient documentation that makes it unique or the comments about it's discovery is 'entertaining'.

I will be giving the gifts and therefore that makes me the judge on those duplicated items. I'll be fair, but if you feel that the submission warrants a gift, please feel free to award a gift of your own!

Good luck and I look forward to all the wierdness this thread has the potential to generate!

(We are a wierd bunch after all!)

OK... I'll bite on this one to get things started.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I found motor oil and clumps of thick pet hair through the entire upper ball track in my machine. It was really gross and took hours to fully clean. I would have preferred to find the usual spider webs and dead insects.

Wow what a great idea for a thread!!

I almost feel left out though, all of my pachis are moderns and mostly arrived in perfect ready to play condition, so I have no interesting tales of weird stuff...

I remember someone found a tooth recently though??

Your post along with the prior post about a tooth being found was the catalyst for me to start this thread.

Congrats on the first 'winner'. Your gift will arrive soon!

I did find a Jack Daniels chocolate cake in my Bunny Girl pachinko from Greg

It was neatly packed where the ball drop tray goes in the back

I can't find the thread I posted about it

I think that a cake in a bunny would qualify. Did you take a photo of it prior to removing?

I found alstonj1 in my Betty Boop pachislo once...

...but he was installing volume controls and a pull arm. Probably doesn't count, huh?

    Well.. let's see...

    Is he strange or unusual?
Can you get him to 'recreate' the moment so you can get a photo?

You might get two gifts for that!

I once rescued a Cactus Jack's pinball machine that someone had stored a box of Milk Bone dog biscuits in. The box had become a litterbox for a family of mice and was about the nastiest cleanup I have ever taken on. The smell was horrendous! I'll check if I still have the pics tomorrow.

Talking Re: Strange, Unusual and gross finds in machines.

I picked up a Waterworld pinball game last month and there was a very nice Henckels chef's knife tucked in the back with other miscellaneous nuts and washers, old wire, burnt solenoids and burnt bulbs. Do finding rusty balls stuck together in a clump count ? Have a Happy New Year to all of our Pachi friends.

How could you tell it was a Japanese cockroach? Did it have a kimono on?

I had a small Scorpion in my first Don Don King II. Sadly that was many moons ago and not a pachinko. Of course being in TX that could have come from here as much as there...
