    Makes more sense than anything I could figure out. Machine works flawlessly after restoration with no jams after about 3 straight days of 3 grandaughters playing it day and night. Just as much fun as I remembered from 30 years ago. Was going to get pictures as I put it back together but the little gremlins were just to anxious and wouldn't leave me alone.

    Rebuilt from the ground up from a real piece of junk and had to fab a couple of replacement parts (like the ball ramp cover), but worked like a champ...Like I said, no jams...more than I can say for the one I had back in the 70's. I guess I am a better mechanic after all these years.

    Anyway, thanks for the help and indeed it doesn't make any difference in the play.

    You are correct, Mopar. That is exactly what the wire is for. I have several machines with such a feature, but I have yet to leave enough jackpot payout balls in the lower tray to trigger it. I'm sure it was useful while the machine was installed in a parlour, however it probably isn't necessary now.
