Cool New to Pachislo, Machine never pays out (on six)

    Hello,

My future father-in-law loves to play the slots so I bought him a Pachislo machine for Christmas. We've had fun playing it so far but the thing NEVER pays out! I set the odds to "6" but the thing is impossible to beat.

I did not buy the machine from this site but here is what it looks like: Slot Machines What Happens in Vegas Skill Stop Slot Machine

The possible combinations are as follows: Free Replay, Bells (7 tokens), green bags (?), blue bar with some guy singing (?), cherry (?), pink seven (?), red seven (?)

We have about 700 tokens of which we keep 200 in the hopper. The hopper never comes close to running dry but our cup o' tokens is always on E. The only combinations we have ever hit are the free replay icons and the bells. After hours of playing and thousands of tokens burned through, we have never seen what anything else does. A cherry in the first reel seems to pay between 2 and 4 tokens but there does not seem to be a wild of any kind. I hit two red sevens and a pink seven once but they do not appear compatible as I did not win. Evidentally they all need to be pink or all need to be red.

It is not uncommon to blow through 50 credits and only get a "free replay" and nothing else. Sometimes I hit the bells but even that is infrequent. I know we just got the machine but considering the thousands of credits already played and the fact that we have yet to hit any other combinations besides the lowest two have me concerned.

I paid about $300 for the machine which included 700 tokens and freight shipping which arrived two days after ordering. Didn't seem bad at the time but now I am having my doubts. So did I get ripped off? Is there anything I can do to increase our odds other than putting it on "6"? Do I need more tokens? I'm desperate!

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello and welcome to Pachitalk!!
Try changing the odds setting to 4 or 5, that might help open it up.
I usually keep mine machines on 5 but you should experiment with it on different settings.
That machine you have is a custom and I am not sure what the original was.
Some machines are tighter than others no matter what setting you have it on.
More tokens won't hurt, I try to keep roughly 1500 in the hopper per machine.

    Welcome to Pachitalk.
The Pachislo machines don't work like the American style slots.
They dump a lot of tokens when they do decide to pay. Most of the Pachislos give a hint that they are are ready to dump.
One way to tell for sure is that the blue lights come on. You can get the machine to pay out its bonus faster by "eye-shooting" the reels.
You can see some of the symbols are larger than the others on the reels. By timing the flash of the larger symbols as they go by (about 80 rpm), you can stop the reels on the desired spot.
The machine has to be ready to dump or it will slip the symbols past if it is not. Over 10,000 tokens it will pay out most back if you have it set at 6. The Pachislos are very streaky, being stingy sometimes and overwhelming at others. The bonus rounds pay 300 to 700 tokens depending on the machine style.

Machines can be stingy at times but other times they pay and pay. Just keep playing.

Basically you purchased this machine. But on yours they removed the 18" lcd and replaced it with some decals. The also changed the belly glass.

I honestly don't understand why someone would buy a f*cked-up "custom" pachislo.

The title says it all. He's new. He didn't do it intentional. I'm pretty sure he didn't know all his choices. A lot of us here over paid for our first game. Live and learn, that's why there's Pachitalk.

Without the original LCD screen you have a basic three wheel machine. You will not know when it gives you hints as to it being ready to eye shoot.
I personally think you were taken. To make a machine into a custom is one thing, to destroy the basic play of the machine is another.

Yeah it looks like I got screwed. Considering the fact that I would have to pay a restocking fee/shipping fee to send it back I guess I may as well just bite the bullet on this one and take note. My guess is that the LCD screen was pulled to be reused in something else so they slapped some graphics on the gutted units and sold them to unsuspecting suckers like myself.

So we are stuck with a game that's going to be pretty stingy without any hints. I'd like to rectify this by purchasing another unit for him but I know he wouldn't allow it.

At least now I am more informed when I buy one for myself.

Well I read up on the return policy and there may not be a re-stocking fee afterall. In additiont to that, I believe I may be within driving distance of their facility so I am going to see if I can return it in person to avoid shipping fees. I can then purchase a proper machine that has not been altered.

I'd like to thank everyone here for pointing me in the right direction. Hopefully I will be on here within a few days raving about a new un-altered machine.

I do not know how it will ever pay out if its a Devil may Cry 3. Without the screen there would be no way for you to play all the mini games leading up to a jackpot. Only luck will get you there...

Get a refund, come back here and get some solid advice and buy from someone who is proven.

Don't get discouraged, these machines are alot of fun.

If they won't give you a full refund, maybe they will let you trade up to an unaltered machine.

And when you're ready to turn to the 'Dark Side' buy a pachinko
(They don't turn them into customs)

Instead of directing this comment at an unsuspecting and unknowing consumer, the better question would be why would someone sell them! They know what they have, what was done to them and mostly sell with deceptive tactics.

Sorry Ezehogan, you are only one of many that have been duped by some unscrupulous sellers. I hope that rude comment does not dissuade you from asking questions. Comments like that are few and far between here, thankfully!
