He was, I guess only for a little while though. Well with $95 shipping, he might as well be gone.

I would question this seller's feedback. His add claims over 700 feedbacks in 2 years but his eBay record shows only 180. Where are the other 520 he claims?

Seller claims all machines are 100% perfect but all machines are sold with absolutely ZERO WARRANTY AND ZERO REFUND policy. He tries to cover himself by insuring his shipment implying any damage will be from shipping and he won't be responsible.

Ninety-five dollars for shipping is simply a ruse to avoid auction fees. It is about 35 dollars too much in my opinion.

No matter how attractive the machine, I have decided there is too great of a risk to send my money to this guy. Caveat Emptor!

For those of you that can't read Latin:

Caveat = "If you pay this seller money"
    Emptor = "Bend over"

Well maybe that's not exactly the litteral translation.

I knew there was a reason besides the shipping price, that I held back on buying that. $30 or so less in price compared to some others, but that much again in shipping. It looked at first like it would work out.

Now it comes back to me... gad, it's tough getting old and forgetful.

From the fine print in the auction:
"SOLD AS IS once they leave the warehouse. We have ZERO responsiblity for what happens once it leaves our sight. They are fully insured if there happens to be any problems of ANY sort. ZERO RETURNS AND ZERO REFUNDS PERIOD! If you dont agree to these terms please do not bid please."

    Please do not bid please...
    OK.
    You got it.

So if they send a piece of junk, you got to file a claim, and if he didn't jump thru hoops on packing, they turn you down. Thean you are left just holding your balls, probulity Rusty too!

    No pride on their end.

    Red Alert! *Red Alert!!

Notice what the seller is now claiming in his payment section regarding his "gaurantee"

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...13526&rd=1 Dead Linc

I emailed him and his reply was everything is sold AS IS and if I have a problem with the game arriving DOA I would have to take it up with UPS. *As I understand it, UPS is not going to cover a used non-functioning game which the shipper sells and advertises as AS IS.

I know UPS is a good carrier, but I doubt they would be inclined to pay for a game that doesn't work because of *detached wiring, *bad transformer, defective motherboard , jammed mechanism or missing parts ( all reasons that a game could arrive DOA which would not be the fault of the carrier). *

So, please think carefully before bidding in this auction or any auction where no reasonable guarantee is offered.

You'd think with those "100,000" machines in stock, they might have some spare parts to do warranty work, huh?

I didn't quite count that many in the photo on the auction.

I checked UPS' website for information regarding their liability insurance they offer to shippers.

UPS specifically excludes damage claims that were the result of wear and tear before the item was shipped or after it was delivered.

This means UPS is not going to pay for a DOA (Dead on Arrival) game which it determines could have been damaged prior to being presented to UPS for shipping. Since all pachinko and pachislo games are deemed used, it would be up to a UPS claims adjuster to decide if a game sold AS IS with NO REFUNDS would be the responsibility of UPS if it arrived DOA.

Don't expect any assistance from the seller if UPS determines it was damaged prior to shipment. Remember AS IS and NO REFUNDS? UPS is not going to be manipulated by any seller claiming UPS will cover DOA games.

So who is the big loser, here? Guess!!!

That the problem, I had to fight with them, as the seller.

The buyer can't really do anything, evrything has to be handled by the seller who bought the insurance. He has to show condition Pictures, working proof, and MEET their shipping requirements on packing.

And it still took me 3 1/2 months to get reinbersed for the damage repaires. I had right away reinbersed the buyer his funds. I was the one who had to wait and jump thru hoops.

When and if they do, the check is cut to the seller, not the buyer, the only nice thing was I got the shipping cost back too!

    Arby,

    Good points.

You immediately reimbursed the buyer. You are a reputable seller who looked out for the customer first.

Now what happens if the seller choses not to submit any documentation to UPS and just keeps the buyer's money?

If a business has to many claims, UPS will not sell you insurance on the items you ship.
I talked to My UPS Lady, about the problem of claims, I had two in one week in early Aug. We went over my packing practices and That is why now I over pack everything.
She said there are alot of sellers on ebay that they don't insure, and she said the post office is doing this also blocking payments to certain people even if they buy it. Because their % of damage is so high.

    Exactly!

By the way, the seller in question has notified me he doesn't like my questions and has blocked me from sending him any emails.

Hmmm....methinks he does protest too much!!

That says it all. I suppose he'd block any requests for UPS claims, too.
