questions about Maruhon Super Fine Play

hi guys.

I bought this machine off craigslist to give a relative for Xmas. personally, i'm more interested in the old mechanical, vintage machines.

when I was cleaning the back of the Maruhon, I noticed a toggle switch on the right side with a resistor knob above it and a momentary switch below it (see pix)

toggle is on/off. what are the other two for? (I'm guessing adjust output and deep reset?)

on the back side, there is a resistor soldered in to adjust the volume; and just above that is a small slide switch on the circuit board.

what does this slide switch do?

I am adding back nails to get the machine at more reasonable odds. perhaps it had been changed for kids to play with. it was way too easy, and too hard to keep up with the balls.

The 'resistor knob' is actually a fuse holder, the button at the bottom is a reset button, the slide switch is the factory volume control - loud - louder - ear shattering
