Default Convert from Cyclic to Parlor Ready

    Hi,

I recently bought a machine called Cart GP. I would like to reconvert it back to Parlor Ready. Is it easy to do, or should I send it to a company close to me (imatrix Canada) that has detailed knowledge of this machine, as they sell it often?

    Hello,

It might be helpful if you could post clear pics of the back of the Pachinko for other members to look at,

as they may be able to see exactly how it was modified from the original ball channels and advise you as
to whether it's an easy thing for you to do the work yourself

OK I will do that... but from my novice eye it seems hard to see anything - circuit boards look to be blocking the view of many internal systems.

If it's semi-cyclic (balls drop to the bottom front tray) there may be hope. If it's full cyclic, it may be chopped beyond recovery. Who makes the machine?

I'm guessing that it's a Sammy 'ChoroQ Turbo' (based on the fact that imatrix sell this machine as 'Cart GP'). Same 'Flash Annin' frame as 'Freddy -vs- Jason'.

In that case it may be easy, all I needed to do was drill a hole through to the shooter tray and block off the path to the rear. If it was done like mine you are in luck.

The quick and easy way to check it out is remove the cell (game field) from the frame. Don't have one handy, but shouldn't be too hard to do.

This shows how I converted Freddy Vs. Jason. The steps match the Photos

    1) The first thing you have to do is open up the machine. Turning the key to the left opens the front glass, to the right swings the whole machine out. Make sure you have all the balls out of the machine and the frame securely anchored or the whole thing will fall forward and put big knots on your head.

2&3) Pull the black knobs out to unlock the plastic guard on the back of the cell. Then swing the guard out and off.

    4) Unplug this wire connector.

5&6) then unplug these two wire connectors

    Continuing

    7) Next unplug these 3 wire connectors

8&9) Push down on these tabs to opn the bottom covers on the bottom cell locking knobs. There should be four locking knobs total, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom and they turn to the right. Pull the right side of the cell out about 3 inches then slide the cell to the right to remove it from the frame.

10&11) This shows how I made it cyclic. The block of wood stops balls going to the back and the ball fall through a hole I drilled into the track leading to the shooter tray.

    12) To convert it back I just need to remove the wood and place some stiff tape over the hole I drilled. The balls then would travel into the slot pointed at and go to the back as normal.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, it is the "Sammy" Machine. I will look into seeing if I can do as you described Musky. Thank you for the tech support.

However the Reward Hopper is competely disabled. If a ball goes into the 'goal' area where you normally win 3 balls, the reward hopper does not pay out anything.

Additionally, all balls that enter the 'goal' area end up in the back tray behind the unit. Everything else is cycled into the front win tray.

Maybe that will shed a bit more light on the situation.

sounds like a poorly done semi-cyclic conversion. you'll have to open the back up and take a look to see how bad it's cut up.chances are they just unplugged the payout motor.

Musky, I opened it up and followed your instructions. Dont have photos yet, but basically machine is identical setup to your inside. (As you know).

Here is the thing... DIRECTLY under the bottom playfield hole, once the machine is open - it appears that the vendor melted the plastic right through...(like your drilled hole but under the playfield hole, not where yours is) which causes the balls to fall through and out the front payout tray. So I just covered the melted hole with smooth tape.

Put everything back together again - BUT the balls that should flow normally into the machine just bunch up and sit right at the bottom of the playfield hole...

    Any ideas?

    Update:

OK found the problem: The vendor had put a plastic shield forcing the balls down the melted hole. Removed the plastic shield and now all spent balls are going to the back. They r simply hitting the tape once entering the unit and moving down into rear back spent ball area where they should be!

    One more important fix:

The payout hopper. It is not functioning at all. Musty, do you know where the Payout Hopper wires and / or motor would be on your Sammy machine?

I'll take some more photos later today of the payout motor and wiring. Glad you were able to get some of it going again.

OK everything is working well minus the payout hopper. Definately disabled.

After examining the payout system further, I can see two separate tracks leading in slightly different directions from the top of the payout hopper tray. One leads more 'internal' into the machine, the other snakes down along the machine visible through the clear plastic from the rear of the unit as per most pachinkos.

The top payout tray with the track closest to the front of the machine (playfield area) allows the balls to (if you pour some into the top hopper) to immediately fall through the machine and right out to the front payout tray with no catch or seeming function. The second track remains full with balls and never releases those balls.

After running over 5,000 balls through it, I can safely say that the payout hopper is not 'playing out' old wins either.

one of those tracks is for regular payouts during the game play, the other track only pays out when you hit a fever.

    Ok guys,

It's fixed !!! Actually some tips about the payout hopper in previous posts were right... it had old jackpot memory in place. But here is the thing: it literally passed over 7,000 balls through it before finally emptying the memory and working properly again.

I think this ticket can be closed now Thank you very much Musky and other members who helped troubleshoot! Its cool to have such a strong community of Pachi junkies online.
