    Default tulip upgrade finished!

    hey there.

    it's done!!

the right tulip was a lot harder than the left. I did have to cut the plastic track a little bit, and I had to modify the tulip to empty to the left, instead of to the right. took a bit of futzing and modifying, but it works now AND it looks like they were original. i'm excited that it turned out so well.

now i'm hunting for another machine...

    thanks.

    Nice job!
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

Cool job! I think there are purist out there who wouldn't like the fact the plastic was cut, but your machine was lacking some 'excitement'. I think it's a great mod and most likely made the machine much more exciting to play.

    Congrats!

There's a ton of this type machine out there, a few modded ones aren't gonna make a dent, makes it unique!

    Good job. It's fun to refurb. I don't have a problem with changing a machine...just a bit

heavyguitarman - thanks for the comments. I think you have the "ultimate mod" at this point.

i'm thinking about adding some LED's, wired off the current bulbs, to have some flashing around the edges, but I plan not to cut any extra holes.

also, I may have to add a couple nails to the playing field to make my machine more difficult now. with the extra tulips, i'm hitting jackpots all the time, and I have to keep refilling the hopper... oh yeah, that why i'm supposed to design the ball lifter...

    to the purists -

I found a very close matching piece of laminated cardstock (ironically the business card from vintage pachinko), and covered up the holes on the back where the tracks were cut. matches very well and looks more "finished"

i've been hunting the local craigs lists and ebay, looking for another interesting machine... and there are soooo many... good thing the wife has me on a budget!

    hi again.

I found some video that I made while installing the tulips. unfortunately, I didn't have anyone to help me with the video, so there isn't any drilling or burring action, since I had to use both hands; but, it steps through the stages of the upgrade and the problems that I had to address.

That is awesome, Mudfud! I would not have even attempted it! I can't believe you got your tulips to work in conjunction with the others!
