Default Professional Ball Management System and Cabinets

    Hi,

I am interested in setting up 10 units b2b in my basement. I have a few machines already and love them!! Here is the thing...

I like quality. I want my friends to be blown away by my setup. I have a ball lifter on one of my machines which was custom built by the former owner of it. It's good but not "professional", sometimes the unit runs low and requires topping up etc...

It stands to reason that a number of manufacturing / installation companies must exist in Japan that build amazing ball management systems. Systems that are completely self sufficient with a centralized hopper and distribution system that would require filling only once a day or so.

    a) I wonder if anyone has detailed knowledge of these systems, and if one could be built in another country.

    b) I wonder if the right pistons, parts, motors etc could be shipped overseas and installed by a Western company into a professional cabinet that "hangs" the machines on hinges like in a real parlor. How cool would that be??

    -LT

    That would indeed be cool

I'm sure we have some ingenious members here who have designed their own ball handling / cabinet systems in the past

And a few with knowledge of the systems the Parlours use I believe, so you should get some interesting replies

    Hello and welcome to PachiTalk!

Here's my suggestion. First use the 'Search Feature' above and try various key words such as Ball Lifter, Ball Management, etc. and you will find LOTS of threads that deal with this subject. Some of these threads have links to commercial companies that build exactly what you are wanting. I also know of one member who build a really nice ball management system that used a 'manual lifting' method but employed an automated gravity fed system that serviced 4 (I think) machines and used plexiglass extensively.

Now for the design, here's my first thought. You should design your room to where all the machines are lined up with either a 'gap' between them or between them and the wall they are next to. Then use a simple gutter system (like at lowes or home depot) to transfer all the balls to a single location where you can then employ a single high volume ball lifter (or a manual lifting process). For the feeding purposes, you can employ either the fancy (read expensive) commercial jobs or a gravity fed system.

If you look at photos from 'real' Pachinko parlours, you will notice that the patrons see none of the mechanics of the ball management system. If you build 'walls' to mount your machines in and hang dry wall around them, then your management system can be really ugly (but functional) as it will be hidden. This setup will also give you the ability to create 'installment locations' for machines (since they are all standard in size) where you can 'change out' machines.

I think your gonna get a lot of 'ideas' on this thread because most of us with the addiction 'dream' of having a room such as you describe and have envisioned it ourselves.

I hope this helps and Good luck to you!

That's cool to know BB. I wondered how that was done. I new the frames were anchored some how, but I just figured they were screwed down. It makes more sense to be 'clamped down' as they change out can be accomodated very quickly.

The only hinge that is needed is the ones that come on the machine in it's frame.

    Hmmm... learn something new everyday.

All the major pachinko manufacturers have a ball distribution division of their companies.

I've been able to obtain some of Shuko Electronics (a Sammy corp) system, but for some reason, they decided they didn't want to sell to me any more, guess cause it was going over seas.

In the attached pics, the first is the upper distribution system, the next is the parts to hang it in the aisle, the third is a lower catch tray, the fourth is the upper ball cutoff, the fifth is what the upper distribution system looks like, and the last is the overall system, the S341 is the first and second pictures,S611 is the fourth, S821 is the third, and the S232 is a count sensor in the catch tray.

The machines are mounted in the aisle in different ways, some use a clamp at the bottom and an adjustable mount at the top (for tilt), while others are just attached with screws at the bottom, and a simple plate attachment at the top.

Interesting replies ! Thanks for all the useful info and suggestions.

I am not technically gifted or a hands-on person at all, so in my case I would probably hire out the job.

    1. The cabinets could be built to spec fairly easily using exact measurements from a parlour setup in Japan.

    2. Find a Japanese company willing to install the system. Buy the system, ship the parts and fly over a technician to do the install accurately. If it could be done for $2,500 amortized cost per machine or $25k if 10 machines - not cheap, but once done - it would be a great setup to last a long time. The real question is: would you get any sleep?

My cousin owns a printing company and he recently purchased a large Japanese Komori press. He flew over a couple of expect technicians and it was a life-saver. Everything was installed accurately and he hasn't had any issues.
