    Got to love MDF dust.

When I was building mine I had the stuff all over the neighborhood.

I was too anxious that I never made an adapter for my shop vac. I'll clean it up later, after my tools start disappearing.

The layout is cool, But...Just an FYI...The "start player 1" button doubles as a shift button in Ipac. You can program it anyway you want, but if you use the defaults, You may have a slight problem.
With the defaults, When you hold down "Player one start" and push the joystick up, it will allow you to change the volume, P1 and JS left is enter setup mode, P1 and JS Down is pause...etc.
I can see someone easily playing a game and, since most games are joystick = Left hand, They might press there palm against the P1 button. Causing it to go into a certain mode.

This is just a point to make.

Also, To help configure your Control panel ... Try this...

    http://www.arcadedepot.com/IMAGES/Co...B-Template.jpg

The template is for the 11" wide panel from Arcade Depot...But more importantly, the buttons and controls are there for the popular controls along with Drill holes.

Copy the template to a graphics program, and select/ paste the control images to you size panel and arrange. It will give you a great idea on whether something is going to fit right or not.

Once everything is in it's correct palce...print it out "100% exact size" and lay it over you control panel. You can then drill all the necesary holes easily throgh the paper print out.

Yep...With the Ipac4, You can program the button to just be a player 1 button, and use something else for shift. Ultimarc has there own software for programing the button anyway you wish... Ultimarc, the Ultimate in Arcade Controls.

I bought mine from Fry's for less then suggested price. When you figure out what the parts, time and shipping cost the X-Arcade products are a good value. Just a suggestion.

I also bought a used X-Arcade tankstick to see if I liked mame and WinKawaks. I used it with my laptop and USB adapter. Mame really doesn't need a monster PC to run.
I actually recycle older PC's Pent III 800 or better. tiny XP, + Mame 32+ X-arcade and it is a simple way to start playing a real mane outfit. Quite a few video cards have the rotate feature, ( the cheapest PC Dell makes the Vostro 200 can rotate the screen90, 180,270)

I started getting interested in the older arcade classics again after picking up this stargate cheap at an auction.

Wear a mask when cutting that MDF. Great stuff, but it makes some very nasty dust!

the x arcade controls I'm sure are good, it just wouldn't work with my application. Im gonna have 2 players sitting on opposite sides of the table, and want 2 joysticks apiece so I would have to buy two of them. I have a little more design options with the separate purchases, which wasn't really that much on ebay. I think i spent around $68 dollars w/shipping for 14 buttons, 2 of which are pl 1 and pl2 , and 4 joysticks.

oh yea and the ipac4 w/shpping around 70 for a total of about $138

Well my Ipac arrived today...Only I was working and since it was international it requires a signature. No note left on door by DHL. If I didn't have a tracking number, I would have never known. Now I have to take time off work tomorrow and drive to Daytona Beach and pick it up. Just remember if you order stuff online, try to get a tracking number! I would have never known a delivery was attempted because this lazy *** wouldn't go back to his truck to get a door sticker.

It was probably the last delivery by DHL in the USA. What are the odds of that?
