Unless the uk guys been hiding on another planet you may have seen woolworths the shop has gone in ti administration (The recession bites again) but the recivors have been in all the stores and pulled the old battered stock out of teh back room and put it on the shop floor at silly prices just a couple of the games room bargins i bagged was a darth vador starwars phone brand new perfect apart from a battered box (you dont look at teh box) £5 few games at £2.50 each all fresh this years toys down to up to 50% off some real good stuff to have

Yes I've been following the sad Woolworths news recently,

I also popped into a branch yesterday, but they didn't have anything like that on offer, maybe they did later in the day??

I will need to pop back next week

We had a woolworth in downtown, but it went out of buisness when I was a young child

when we first moved to Florida we would go to woolworths food counter and get 2 eggs, toast and hash browns for around $1.49.

a cup of fresh coffee was very cheap too

and they had good root beer floats too

We had one too... I used to love to ride the bus into town and go shopping with my mom.

I can still remember the Woolworth's had rickety wooden floors and a lunch counter. That was way back when the movie theatre was directly across the street and they were both considered the anchors of the downtown.

the rickerty wooden floors were almost a trade mark here in teh uk then when they went slightly more modern they replaced the creaky floors with highly polished flat wooden flooring like you would find in a night club just to try and have the old meets new sort of look

I remember is 1986-87 a woolworth's in Mannheim Germany. I thought wow an American Store over here. You didn't find many department stores in Germany Quite like that!

We had a Woolworth's in the mall here when I was younger. I can't remember exactly when we lost it, but I think it was late 80's. I remember going there all of the time with my parents. It was a two story building, and they had everything...

i remember a woolworths here in town when i was a kid.only thing i remember about it was that there were 3 or 4 pinball machines available to play.2 plays for a quarter.ahh,the good old days.
