Default Started new cabinet for my Nishijin

Thanks to all the posts here to get me started! I finally constructed the skeleton of my project and just applied the first coat of stain. The cabinet will darken as I repeat coats, then it's clearcoat time. I love clearcoat!!! Damn Im tired. I'll send more pics as this project progresses.

Well I cant't get the darkness and color I was trying to achieve because the sample I looked at was on dark wood and I used pine. I sure don't want to sand back down to bare wood so I'm going with paint this time. Im gonna work other parts of the cabinet until I get the paint I want. I'll send pics as soon as I see any presentable progress.

Not much cabinet action going on in this room. I'm hoping to change that sometime today by maybe at least having a damn color to my build. Its been 1 step forward and 2 steps back and this poor thing has seen 4 colors. I've reached the "however this turns out, I'm going with it" stage of asthetics.

Ok finally a bit of progress, here's a couple of pics:

Pic #1: My version of Eddie's version of Ken's version (thanks Ken and Eddie)
Pic #2: I'm tired of coloring, I'm going with it!
    Pic #3: My crafty apprentice

I didn't worry too much about the inside of the cabinet, I'll send more pics later. Outside turned out pretty acceptable.
I'm on the design as you go plan, so it's up in the air about what I do next. I did leave a space for a thin drawer / ball catcher at the bottom.

well I'm excited about having a new puppy so I couldn't resist. While she was playing I did add a couple of slopes to the top hopper. The one on the right appears wavy, but it's just the lighting. Both are sheet metal with 3/4" support underneath.

That's cool lucky, it must be old, you don't see much cast iron knick knacks around.
