Snow Pictures--Winter 08/09

No I don't have any yet, its like 60* outside right now!!

But I have been hearing about snow in the news (and the SB ) so I thought I'd get a thread ready for when the first flurries hit the PT neighborhood!!

So get those cameras ready and stay warm!!

Well, we got a little bit, but not at the house yet. This snow was a little up the road from us. The large mountains in the background surround Lake Tahoe.

Just be glad your not in the Dakotas! 4' and high winds, drifts to 30'!

We finally got some real snow here!!

I took this at about 1 am!!

We ended up getting around a foot of snow!!

We got a smattering here with a layer of ice on top. It was enough for the kids to have the day off yesterday and a two-hour delay this morning. The house is empty now...ahhhhhhhh!

England has been hit with heavy snow blizzards overnight and it appears to be getting worse, we have been issued with a severe weather warning in my area

Here's a couple of pics showing the outlook over the park and also my garden this morning, so far it's not too bad, but is predicted to get worse...

It's Rumored that we are getting a light snow storm here this Wednesday night.

The last storm that shut down Jacksonville was back in 1989.

As Hanabi said we've had a bit of snow over this side of the pond.

I had to take a walk up to the stables with Jules to check on the horses, so took a camera with me.

First pic is the top of the hill 3/4 mile away from my house overlooking the city. Most days you can clearly see the sea from here, but today it just blends in with the greyness of the sky.

Next at the stables the horses don't seem to be too concerned about the snow.(left is 'Rhino', front centre is 'Holly', right is 'Shadow').

And finally the two 6 month old kittens we have up at the stables, Sylar seems to be very excited about the snow and she's been running around all afternoon chasing the snowflakes. Hiro doesn't seem to be that impressed by it and he prefers a bit of shelter under the bench.

Looks wonderful all winter white, think you got more snow than we did,

The horses are beautiful and seem nice and cosy in their 'coats' but that cat (sylar) looks like curiosity is just about to get the better of her...
