Default Has anyone bought recently a pachi from Discountcasinogear?

    Hello all,

could you please share your experiences with
    www.discountcasinogear.com related to pachislo machines?

How do they package? Was the machine clean? They mention on their website a very thorough refurbishing process. Is it true?

    Thanks for any info!

    Cheers,

    Miklos

I have purchased many things from Discount Casino Gear over the last four years. I can vouch for their quick shipments, great packaging, selection, and the best prices on the net for poker chips, and other gameroom related items. Unfortunately, I have never purchased a pachi from them, so I cannot give you a fair assessment of their machines.

Given my past experiences with this company, though, I wouldn't hesitate to make the purchase. Keep in mind though, I think these machines are only a small part of their business and I'm not familiar with their return/repair policies. I've seldom had a machine fail on me, and fixes have been simple (it is a pachi - more or less bullet-proof if it arrives safely).

I notice they do have a lot of the cheesy 'customs.'

Yeah. They do have those custom slots. It is just a ugly sticker on the (working or not working) LCD screen. I recommend to buy the actual Japanese title.

Update: I have contacted them twice - by email and by placing an order.

In both cases they should have responded (the order had no shipping costs, so they would have to contact me with the total, so that I can pay) - but they have not.

Conclusion: not really a good seller to deal with, as they totally disregard people wanting to buy their products...

I have no personal experience of them so can't give a qualified opinion,
but is there a telephone contact number for this company??

I'm not sure how long you have been waiting for a reply from them, but sometimes email / internet can have delays, etc and an old fashioned phone call can maybe get a quicker response??

They have no published phone number. This is what their website says:

"Looking for a phone number? You may have noticed, our prices are extremely low. One way we do this is by minimizing our costs by doing almost all our business over the web. Send us an e-mail and we'll respond pretty quickly. We make every effort to respond the same day, but usually respond within an hour."

One of the two contact I had with them was an actual ORDER. But they have not reacted to the order either - so the order remains incomplete.

You are right: the delay could be due to technology delays - but as far as I am concerned, if they are so slow to reacting an order, I do not want to discover how much slower they are with a potential after sales issue...

    Final update:

I have concluded a purchase from Discountcasinogear.

I have bought MumuWorld from them, for a reasonable price. (see their website for prices). UPS Shipping to Canada was also quite acceptable.

The machine arrived quickly and in a relatively clean shape (I had to do some extra cleaning myself, including cleaning the screens etc.). It was also well packed. I had many grievances with UPS in the past, this time UPS did nothing wrong (and also the unit was quite solidly packed), so overall, I have to say (despite initial communication challenges) this was a great transaction at a nice price (much cheaper than some other vendors).

Only one (very minor) negative: I have also bought tokens from them in the same order. The token bag was just thrown into the big box, and it was torn open. As a result, during shipping a number of tokens got lost (since the packaging they use has two holes on the sides for carrying it easier). However, they sent me immediately by UPS replacement tokens to cover for the ones lost, without any further hassles.

They have a limited selection - but if I ever wanted a unit from their selection: I would buy from them again.

Thumbs up Re: Has anyone bought recently a pachi from Discountcasinoge

They are very good with other items, granted, I've never had a reason to contact them outside of placing an order. The prices on most of their stuff is unbeatable, especially their chips and related gear.

The nice thing about their chips is you can buy in any quantity you wish. You're not obligated to purchase 500 or 1000 to get a great price. Packaging is solid, and shipping has always been about a week.

I recently bought a toke box (under table mounted box for a table) for a fraction of what ebay sellers had it for.

Whenever I look for a gameroom related item, I go to their site first.

Toke box or drop box? a toke box is for dealer tips and normally clips on the side of the table. A drop box is mounted underneath the tables drop slot for bills and requires a key to remove.

Well, it's referred to on both ebay and Discount Casino Gear as a toke and/or drop box. I guess you could drop chips in there...

Yea that's a drop box. Toke is another name for a dealer tip, slang for token of appreciation. Tokes are put into a clear box so the house can see whats in there. It clips on the table so the dealers can remove them at the end of the shift for counting.

    Ouch! $88!

I bought the 'drop' box for a poker table I was going to build (bill slot, chip tray, etc) but then ended up with the solid wood table I didn't want to mar. Maybe I'll build a blackjack table instead.
