Young Johnny from Detroit
Ms. Ellenbach, as she did with all of her 2nd grade classes, spent some time one day asking the children to explain what their fathers did for a living.
She got a lot of the usual, "doctor, factory worker, mailman, etc." answers. Then she noticed young johnny in the corner by himself being unusually quiet.
When she asked Johnny what his father did he replied, "He's a stripper in a gay bar. He takes his clothes off in front of other men. And if the offer is good enough, he'll meet the men behind the bar and make love with them for money.
Horrified, Ms. Ellenbach quickly got the rest of the children involved in another task and took poor Johnny from the room.
"Is that what your father REALLY does for a living?"
"No," said Johnny, "He plays for the Detroit Lions, but I would have been too embarrassed to say that in front of the class..."
