Post Standing cabinet w/plans & photos

Here's the full size standing cabinet I built from 11" shelving material I had in my shop. As you can tell from the photos I haven't sanded nor painted it yet. The CabinetDesign.jpg file was created in paint brush giving the dimensions of the cabinet and the txt files explain how I built it.

I wouldn't have posted these, but the only cabinet plans I've see thus far are wall mounted or table tops. Hopefully I haven't duplicated anything.

My goals in designing this cabinet was to have a free standing, easy to build, inexpensive cabinet that provided the most realistic Pachinko pallor experience.

Thumbs up Re: Standing cabinet w/plans & photos

Very nice! Kinda looks like it could be a coin-op! Gotta talk to Eddie about converting it!

The coin op idea is not a forgein concept on me. I have a stiff plastic tube that is closed at one end and has 'marks' on it to designate 10,20,30,...,100 balls. When someone wants to play, I use this tube to count out a specific number for them. Then at the end of the session I can use the same tube to count out how many they are 'cashing in'.

This, again, sticks with my desire to make play as realistic as possible. However, I did not create this cabinet design for the use in a gambling environment. I just wanted to make that clear so I don't violate the policies here.

    thanks for all the kudos!

Those policies refer to Pachislo. Most US states do not consider Pachinko a gambling device (even CA).

If you want some inspiration, take a look at Eddie's collection. He's got some really nice machines that he's restored. Specifically, his arepachis, and his coin-op. His coin-op looks a bit like your cabinet, with the exception of the light mounted over the cell.

I bought one of these, Imonex in hopes of making something of mine coin-op (the coin acceptor I linked to is sized to accept 25mm tokens like the ones in pachislots). One day, maybe I can devote myself to a project!

I just wish there was a bill acceptor (not too expensive) that could be programmed to take custom money (say monopoly money).

According to the XE currency converter:

    10,000.00 PLN = 3,358.38 USD

    Poland Zlotych United States Dollars
    1 PLN = 0.335838 USD 1 USD = 2.97763 PLN

And no buying from Japan right now: 94Y to the dollar! We should be selling to them.

Edit: I assume those are pre-1994 bills? Then the new value is:

    10,000 old Zlotych = 1 new Zlotych

    1.00 PLN = 0.335837 USD

    Wiki:
Poland went through its worst inflation between 1990 and 1993. The highest denomination in 1989 was 200,000 zlotych. It was 1,000,000 zlotych in 1991 and 2,000,000 zlotych in 1992. In the 1994 currency reform, 1 new zloty was exchanged for 10,000 old zlotych. Previously, between 1922 and 1924, Polish inflation reached 275%.

Well, here's the first two cabinet's placed together in my new 'KeyChinko' room. My wife (the painter) picked out the colors so they would match the machines and have that 'Japanese Look' .

The green one was the first one I built and the plans are shown above. The watermelon one is made from the same plans except I made the hopper at the bottom to have a single slope that feeds the balls out of the door on the lower left. I discovered that having a 'V' shaped bottoms actually made the balls jam more than the single slope against the wall did. Lesson learned.

NICE WORK! The one machine feels out of place because he's not in a cabinet.
