Thumbs up re: Looking for brass Nails for pachinko machine

I don't see any of the pins for sale on their site, but take a look here, and maybe shoot them an email.

I know a few members have gotten new nails from japan, but I believe they were a few dollars for just a few!!

I measured the length of the bass nails on one of my cells and it's about 1'' . The gauge or thickness is the higher the number , the thinner the nail . OSH , Lowes, or Home Depot usually have a selection of brass nails in their stores

I can appreciate the desire for brand-new pins...I'm sure it would look great. However, it appears that such an endeavor could be costly.

Question: Can you not just polish the nails that you pulled? Or, were they damaged in the removal process?

i didnt damage them, i was missing pins when i got the machine and some of the ones i pull were already bent. If i have to get some anyway, might as well get all new.

The nails as they are called, have a twist treaded end about one third of the way.
That is so they don't come loose as they are beat to different angles.

This is the place to get the nails. IT would be costly but they are Pachinko specific nails and the only real nails for the job.

The nails on my older machines do not have a twist. They are straight brass nails. Even the nails I pulled from my 1990's Maruhon Baseball (to fix the spinners) were straight.

Thanks for the catalog pdf link, Eddie. It has a great manga (comic) showing the correct nail angles (not 90°, but slightly up 6°), as well as other nail placement settings, and even the angle for the cabinet (leaning back as many members have previously noted).

If your source for pachinko nails is one that will be available in the future as well as now you should post it here. This thread's title would come up in any search for brass nails so it's a good place for the info.

Nails that hold in the spinners, tulips and other decorations or hardware on the playing field (the cell) are straight. The pins that the balls hit and bounce around on all have curved threading. Yes even the old vintage machines. God know I learned this the hard way when I chewed up my hand and the nails the first time I tried to pull some with a regular pair of plyers.

well the ones i ordered...(the 2nd time) are gonna be the right thickness. They don't have a twist, but are 1/4" longer than the old so theyll be driven in far enough to not come loose. I should know by tues or wed of this upcoming week how they work and ill post. If they work good, ill finish my machine by friday. Still havent played it yet
