if you look at the original pic, theres a green piece of plastic on the left near the bottom. I drilled out a pretty good size hole behind it and will install a jackpot light there. At the moment im searching for my graphics ill use. Thanks people.

Another way to determine how old a machine is is what the win pockets are covered with. The Masamura Guage (way the pins are arranged) is a big indicator, but if the pockets are covered with hand painted metal pieces, your talking pretty old! (not mine, just for showin')

Well i think that since this machine is old, and was in very bad shape, i've decided to keep it simple...and since my finish is starting to look pretty nice and i can't wait to put it back together and play it. (Haven't even played it yet), i think im just gonna do a few decorative pinstipes, a couple more coats of clear, and by then my new pins should be in. I cant wait to put it all back together. Ive learned alot so far.

note to anyone applying graphics: someone mentioned to make a template of the holes before applying. well i stubbornly skipped this step. i thought i would be able to see the concaved plastic where the holes were. in most cases i bet you can but since ive been clearcoating i couldnt see where they were, and i bet there must have been at least 20 of them. good thing i took pictures of the original pin placement. I forgot to mention that i finally found some cool graphics i could use...i went to an auto supply to get pinstriping like i had planned to do and then i found the graphics that would give this machine some life.

Here's how im gonna make my 6 degree pin placement jig (caveman style): It's been quite some time since i had drafting tools so i went on the internet and found a good image of a protractor and printed it out. Next, I took a straightedge and drew 2 lines @ 6 deg. and 90 deg., about 2" apart, an cut it out with a razor knive and straightedge. Next I transfered it onto 1x6 piece of wood stock. I don't want to cut it out yet because i have clearcoat drying but heres the plan: after i cut out whats basically a rectangle with a 6 deg. slope at one end (using circular saw and straightedge w/ clamps), i will take my speedsquare and score a 90 deg. groove on the edge of the wood for the nail to ride in and recut wood down to size using old nail (that shows how deep it was originally driven in). I'll send pics when im done tommorrow cuz i know this might not make any sense.
