    in the army in the early 60's we were served world war II rations once a month.

    everything was canned, the 20 year old food wasn't too bad.

    campbell's chicken noodle soup, chocolate wafers, pound cake, creamed chicken with noodles and dehydrated fish.

    the fish looked like flat sponges, we had to soak them in a shallow pan of water before baking.

    then they were baked in the ovens.

    Have you tried the MRE's? I've had a few, all i must say is, unless you plan on spending your day in the bathroom, don't eat the omelette!
