    Default Another Woody question

    Hello all,

my machine looks to work fine (but I did not have luck to get 3 times the same numbers yet), but I find the playfield somewhat dark (the screen is nice and bright - the 4 woody lights at the bottom are on, but there is not much more light - maybe only two leds above the screen: one red, on yellow, a couple on the side and a couple of blue clouds at the bottom)

Is that normal? Or are there a series of lights which should make the playfield bright - and none of them work on my machine? Or can I somehow switch those lights on? How?

Is there a special trick to test all lights on the Woody machine?

And one more: I am correct to assume, that only the center hole matter (the one in the middle under the screen): so that is the one I need to put the balls in to spin the wheels, all the other special holes are just for decoration, right?

What happens if I get three times the same number? Do I have to hit the same center hole again and again to advance to the various levels?

As always - I truly appreciate your help!

    Cheers,

    Miklos

    PS: This is fun!!!

Ok, the main center pocket starts the reels,
The other pockets either operate the swing arms (usualy one on each side of the screen)
and the pockets near the bottom pay out. You can find out the payouts by looking at the top right of the screen. it might say something like 5/15 (5 during normal play 15 during bonus)
As for when you line up 3 numbers of the same it will automatically proceed to the screens you want! But i think ill let you find out what happens more exciting not knowing what to expect

Pachinkos does not have general illumination like pinballs have. Parlors are usually quite bright places. I don't know why because all kind of playfield lights on games and dim casino atmosphere would be cool.

I was talking threre are not many videos about Woody on the net but here you can find some clips to see is there any differences in lights:

EDIT... I removed the link because of spoilers. There weren't any videos about lights or frame. Just closeup on the screen. Just play and enjoy surprises and little new thing you have every time you play the game. You can play some machines for years and then notice something fun newer seen before.

It is usual that some lights will only lit and some parts only move at fever rounds.

Swing arms? I have put balls in all the pockets (at least I think I found all) and only the center one did something (and the bootom ones paid out I think). Where are the arms and the pockets that operate them?

    Thanks again!

Doesnt look like woody has swing arms (two arms near the start pocket that sometimes open to increase chance of getting it in start pocket) I don't have any very modern pachis, nor have I played any so i don't know much about them, mine are from the 90's
But on my pachis, to the left and right of the LCD they have two pockets ( kinda ) they let the ball right back down through, aha! they're called GATES, and most of the time the gates when a ball goes through will cause the arms to open like after X amount of balls pass through the gate etc.

I looked some pictures and it seems that Woody does not have those arms or flippers/wings (or whatever...) in the center pocket or they are hidden behind the center pocket decoration.

Modern pachinkos usually have one or two trough pockets/ports which activate the arms at the center pocket. Sometimes arms are connected to X/O sub roulette and with the O result arms will open a moment to help.

There are usually four lights or leds which represent the stored spins. The machine does not store more than four spins so you can pause the shooting with pause button at the knob. If there are another four leds or lights they should represent stored sub roulette spins.

It should not affect to result how much you hit on the center pocket or hit during "reel" spins. Every spin is totally random and independent.

Woody has swing arms on the start pocket. They're activated several seconds after you get a ball in the upper pockets - the ones with the penguin and girl woody on them. The lower pockets on the left and right of the start pocket should pay out around 10-balls

Luckymoey, how would I test this? If I drop a ball (by hand) into the upper pocket, they just fall through - and nothing happens. I tried several times, both of them. It looks like that there are swing arms - but I have not seend them move yet. Is my machine broken? (The lower pockets pay out).

    Hi Gadget,
Woody Woodpecker's lower 4 holes are for ball payout only. You have to get balls into the center Woody hole to keep the video spinning. That is the only way you will win on this machine. You have to play for a long time to see what happens. There are quite a few surprises along the way. Mostly video surprises. But when it hits the Jackpot, it hits BIG! So be ready to dump alot of balls!
Sometimes these machines have a slightly tinted glass in them that makes them appear darker than they really are.
    I hope this helps.

Thank you Jerry. Could you please tell me when the wings activate (see my post above this one - and the one of luckymoey before it)?

I want to make sure that the machine is 100% ok, as the warranty on it is quite short... Thank you!

Update: the wings work - they just come on for a very short time. All seems to be good (only one more question re. pins - see new thread).

Thank you all for being so helpful!!!
