I live in Florida and I haven't used the A/C since late October. I did use the heat once when it got down to 34 outside. I avoid using the heater as much as I can since it's electric central heat, which is expensive to run.

I bet I'd scare my neighbors to death if I turned the A/C on. If it hasn't been used in a while, the condensing unit on the roof literally roars to life.

I could have went Ice Skating on the side walk saturday morning, the Ice was 1/4 inch thick, but by 9pm we had lite rain.

Iowa, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 min. it will change again, every 5 min. What more could you want. Wear heavy coat to work, and home in sandles & Tee shirt.

Tulsa, we had breakfast on the patio New Years day in Alabama. That was neat, but when summer sets in, it's like living in a steam bath.

Okay, it does get a bit hot in the summer time. Although last year we didn't even top triple digits. If you're stuck outside in extreme heat, you can find shade and fan yourself with almost anything and the sweat will cool the body. If you're stuck outside in extreme cold you're going to die. Yep, it's the south for this good ol' boy.

Another great reason to live in Oklahoma. We have no beaches, no speedo's! 8-)

In all the backyards, behind privacy fences. Privacy fencing, the very best way to ward off unsolicited speedo sightings! 8-)

I have lived near Philly all my life except for the 4 years I lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Living in Tulsa was ok (no pun intended), but there were no seasons. You couldn't go sledding, build a snowman, etc. Don't get me wrong it was nice not having to get up an hour early every day to scrape windows of your car, but Christmas never felt right when I was in Tulsa. Once I moved back to Philly, the Holidays just seem better, more festive - that's just my 2 cents anywho.

We get an occasional ice storm. I'd much rather have snow than ice to be sure. Oh and we have seasons in Tulsa. We have, golf jacket season, golf shorts season, golf slacks and wind-shirt season for two days a year, no golf.

in chicago i worked for a polish butcher during high school,

during an ice storm a lady ordered two gallons on milk,

i walked two blocks on glare ice to her house, got all the way up her stairs and slipped on top step.

glass bottles broke and milk all over her stairs.

then i had to go back and get two more gallons for her.

i made it the second time
