Hi all, this is my first post on here as I have just started down the long and slippery slope of Pachinko addiction.
I've managed to get my hands on a Thunderbirds machine as described in this thread and i'd also like to ask a couple of questions about game play, i've not yet had a ''Fever'' which may answer one or two of the questions, but i'll ask them all the same...

    1) The main slot in the centre (with the IR logo on it) only opens wider for half a second and also only very occasionally. There doesn't seem to be anything i'm doing in the game that triggers it...is this right?
    2) Does the Black IR ring (center left) do anything, as nothing happens when a ball drops through it and it looks like it has a sensor in it?
    3) Does the red trap door (bottom centre) open up or do anything during the game?

It may seem like i'm being a bit impatient...it's not that at all, i'm just wanting to make sure I have bought a machine that's working correctly.

    Cheers all,

    Chuck.

    Hi Chuck,
    Welcome onboard.

I still don't really understand the gameplay on my Thunderbirds Pachinko but to answer your questions :

    1. The jaws on my machine do the same so I guess this is normal.
    2. I think it does have a sensor in it and it must impact on the game somehow. Exactly how I have no idea, but from memory it might drop you some free balls.
    3. The red trap door does open very occasionally but I have never fathomed out where the balls then go to. Likewise the mole does move forward from its position top right when the thing goes into fever mode. Only ever seen it once and before that i was wondering if my machine had a fault.
Have you got a ball lifter on yours or are you filling the top hopper manually?

Just keep sending the balls round and eventually you will strike lucky. If you open the front glass, rather than the whole door, you can drop balls down the central target slot in the centre and that will trigger the display and action.

The center tulip opens briefly, occasionally. If you put a ball through the left side "black IR ring" it makes the machine open that tulip more frequently but still briefly.

    2) Does the Black IR ring (center left) do anything, as nothing happens when a ball drops through it and it looks like it has a sensor in it?

    SEE ABOVE.

    3) Does the red trap door (bottom centre) open up or do anything during the game?

The RED TRAP DOOR only opens during a fever. Fevers occurr when the slot feature has 3 matching numbers/thunderbirds vehicles.

    I hope this helps.

Welcome to the addiction we call Pachi's !

The hoop that has IR (International Rescue) is a Hall Effects Switch Hall effect sensor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

when a pachinko ball goes thru it it will be counted on a series of 4 lights somewhere around the center action display and will make the main "Tulip " open for a short period of time . This will allow you to get more balls in it to start the reaches to get 3 of the same number or symbol .

On the big trap door that will open when you get 3 of the same number or symbol and will open and close in a 15 bonus or fever round and during that time you want to get as many balls in that big door ( you will have to fill the top ball hopper in back many times during these rounds ) .

Enjoy and ask away and we will try to do our best to help you .
When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS

Thanks for all those replies, it seems i have a perfect working model (although still not had a fever yet!).
lohr500: Right now the only ''Fever'' i've experienced is me frantically filling up the top hopper as I don't have a lifter, but i kinda enjoy it as part of the overall fun of playing it.

I've got it in my workshop which is the worst thing i could've done as i just can't stop playing the darn thing when I should really be working and earning some money, but hey-ho, at least it's my business and i don't have a boss to get on my back about it.

Sounds like you are really enjoying your pachinko and the Fevers!

    Welcome to 'The Dark Side'

As for ball lifters, I notice you are in Scotland, so I think you would probably have to import one either from Japan, or get one shipped from the US,

They very very rarely are seen for sale in the UK,

with the thunderbirds model the ball lifter will run out dry during fever. you still will have to fill up the upper tray. the fever will give more balls than the ball lifter, even filled up, can provide.

Oh no! I've started looking at what other pachi's
are for sale in the uk already...to say I have a collection
of them means I need more than one.
Are there any particularly good machines I should look
out for? I'd like one with lots of features and maybe more
than one tulip as a main target to aim for ( if such a thing
    exists)
