    Default Cheap pachislo stand

I needed something to put my pachislos on so I made these out of 2x3's and plywood. The legs are angled at 5 degrees for stability. I've attached an adjustment pad to each leg. There's a lighted switch on an aluminum plate at the front. The finish was quick and dirty; bondo as filler, oil based primer, and latex white semigloss final coat. If I make more I'll try for a 'stain and polyurethane' finish and see how that works. The stands work great and keep the pachislos at just the right height for a common chair. The cost for materials for each was less than $20 (2, 2x3's, leveling pads, 2'x4'x.5" plywood, lighted switch, outlet strip).

I like those. They just need to have a place to hold a cold beverage now. I hate when my friends put their beer on top of the machine.

    Nice work!

Good point about the drink! I found I'm putting another chair next to me to hold my soda. I think I'll make the next ones wide enough to support a cup or can. Or maybe I can come up with some sort of swing out beverage holder like in cars. Thanks for the suggestion!

Those are awfully funny looking pachinko machines!

Perhaps a mod could move this to the appropriate section?

    JohnD0406-

You know, it felt strange putting a bit about pachislo stands in the pachinko section, but when I read the following threads from 2008 in 'Pachinko > Cabinets'
    “Another nod to aquarium stands”
    “SlotsDirect.com Cabinet Stands”
“for pachislo or Pachinko. these things are great!”
I thought 'Pachinko > Cabinets' was were threads on pachislo stands go.

By all means, mod, move it to the appropriate section. Would that be "model talk" or "Pachislo Modifications"?

I initially failed to see the logic of posting in "Pachinko Cabinets", as this is not a pachinko, nor a cabinet, but given your search explanation, and lack of "Pachislo Stands" section (perhaps one should be created), a sticky in "Pachislo Modifications" called "Pachislo stand schematics" indicates that's the correct place for this thread:

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7341

There are 2 macro categories here - Pachinko and Pachislo. Many are fans of one or the other, but not both, and don't care to read cross posts (it's nice to close the other category alltogether on the main forum page). I just think apples should be with apples, and oranges with oranges. Cross posting only serves to confuse the next newbie who does a similar search.

In any case, nice work on the Pachislo stands. Should I ever be in need to build one, I'll certainly review this post again at that time...

I would never ever close any categories on PachiTalk, am I in the minority??

Actually I beg to differ with your comments a little,

Although I find Pachinko on the whole to be much more exciting to me personally,
I do buy and play both (9 pachinkos & 6 Pachislos so far) and I would imagine that a great many of our
Members are similar too, or at least are happy to further their knowledge by reading the 'other' posts

Sometimes really interesting information is to be found where we least expect it

    Posts Happen people.

now if they happen in the correct forum or not thats not an issue, because thats what the Staff of PT are here to do. Move threads, merge threads what ever needs taking care of.

we could fill the forum with hundreds of sub forums covering everything that affects the hobby or not. but it wouldnt be PachiTalk.

The laid back style of PT has made it more then just a forum for information this is a place where friendships are cultivated and its a hang out. hang outs dont have to be tidy and dusted and oh no COASTERS YOU GOT TO USE COASTERS.. the information is there in a generally ordered structured sort of way.

So take a deep breath and hmmm where did i put my

Well, now that we got that all worked out

I'm going to draw up plans with step-by-step photos and send a PDF to Sid for review to see if they can be made available for anybody else interested in making a cheap pachislo stand.

I know this is an older thread but maybe other newer members like myself may like to see them. I just happened to come across this thread and I am going to try to build myself something like these.

    Thanks!

Yes, I have a ton of these and they have no problem holding the weight. The only negative is that you may get a few scratches on the table if you're constantly changing machines around on them...but if the scratches are covered by the machine, then does it really matter?? They used to be $12.99 each, but Ikea recently lowered the price to $7.99 each.

I think it's great to resurrect old threads such as this. Those of us that have been into this hobbie for quite some time can easily forget that the newer members have the same issues today that we had several years ago.

There are many great ideas in the old threads here and you never know when these old ideas can lead to better, newer ones.
