Default So I bought a couple of vintage machines off of ebay...

    Hi everyone --

I have a story that confirms most of the eBay sticky above and a question for the board.

    --------------------------------------

So about 6 years ago, I was looking for a pachinko machine. I scoured all of the antique stores and flea markets in the area and came up with nothing. After watching eBay for a couple of weeks I found an auction that was selling two machines. The auction said that the machines had been stored in a barn, and were as-is. It said that one would probably be better off used as a parts machine. I wasn't afraid of doing some heavy cleaning, and figured that I would be able to get them working, so I went ahead and bid (I was a little naive).

I won the auction (I think cost + shipping was about $110), and both machines arrived within a week or so. One was a Nishijin and the other was a Sanyo. The machines were in pretty good shape with all of the major pieces intact, but were really, really dirty. They had dirt and dead bugs caked throughout the back and were both missing the front glass (actually the Nishijin had 1 of the two pieces of glass). I started work on the Nishijin first because it looked a little less complex.

I got the Nishijin completely cleaned and working in time for Christmas, but never got around to working on the Sanyo. The following summer we moved, and didn't have room to display the machines, so they stayed packed up.

Flash forward to today, six years later, and I now have time to clean up and work on the machines and enough room to display them. The Nishijin just needs a little cleaning and a big box so that I can hang it on the wall. I just finished making the box, now I just need to stain it and get the Nishijin mounted it. When I went to look at the Sanyo though, I realized that it doesn't have the frame( ). So now I have a Sanyo that's in really good overall condition (despite needing a cleaning) that doesn't have a frame.

    ------------------------------------

So, long story short, I have a older Sanyo machine that I'd like to restore, but it doesn't have a frame. Any ideas where I can get one?

I wouldn't be adverse to building one myself, but I can't find the big hinge for the top anywhere. I also wouldn't be against finding a trashed machine and taking the frame from it, but there are several problems: I rarely come across machines in my neck of the woods (hence the buying off of eBay), and even if I did find one, unless it was completely trashed, I'd probably want to restore it too -- which would still leave me one frame short.

I've searched eBay and the net, but haven't found anyone just selling the frame (or hinges). Anyone know where to find one?

    Thanks!

I tried to attach pictures of the Sanyo, hopefully they come through:

you may be able to get hinges here

    Vintage Pachinko

if your not going to mount it on a wall you wouldn't really need hinges on the frame
