I just opened the box, set it up, read the minimum manual that came with it, reset it, and changed the skill level. The game plays fine; however, no special effects from the computer el vision. What do I have to do to get the light shows to play?

check for a loose wire or connection.

Open the door and on the inside of the door look where the coins get inserted. Now go straight down until you see wires. Plugged in to something. I can't describe it exactly I dont have that pachislo anymore.
Clean the area where the wires are and reseat the connectors. Use Air or just blown on this area. What happens is metal flakes from coins going in the machine over time shorts out this connector and causes the display to stop working. If that doesnt help maybe it is broken, Magic pulsar should have display during demo mode and while you are playing there should be many effects and all that.

I found the loose connection. The computer screen was not pluged in. It started working but then, i accedently snagged anither connection loose. I can't get to it because the computer screen is in the way. It appears that the screen should be able to come off easily but I can not figure it out. I called tech support and their response was just plug it back in. I hope this is not going to be my luch in my new found hobby. I guess I'll start learning a lot about how to fix 'em as time goes on.

the top of elvision screen pivots on 2 small brackets, I think it should swivel slightly from the bottom without removing them.
