    Default Changing gladiator payout

Hi I'm new here! Currently I just have two machines, a Nishijin Sophia B, and a Gladiator.

On the gladiator, I was wondering if anyone has tried to increase the frequency of the drums hitting fever?

One other question, has anyone used a dongle on this machine successfully?

Hmmm... I don't think you can change the odds. And Daverob sells a wonderful dongle.

the only way to adjust the odds is to adjust the nails so you have a better chance of balls to go into the start pocket!!

I'm planning on buying a dongle once the auction site admin approves me. I was hoping someone clever out there had figured out how to talk to the random number generator to make the fever hit more often.

I'll have to take a look at the nails though, once I can finally see the knowledge base section to get some pointers.. :-)

Dave's Dongle can be used but there is a "Fix " that has to be made. He told me about it awhile back but I have not done it to my machine yet. I'm sure he will chime in when he sees this and update us.

There is another Member here that has a 9 Drums also and has made the Mod. I can't recall who it was though.

    OH ! ! !

I did not need to do anything to my gladiator to get the dongle to work. may be ok without doing anything (or I was lucky)

I am indeed, thanks for the direct. I like it here.

I've figured out alot of the questions I had were just my lack of knowledge about the gladiator. Like the fever thing. I always stopped to watch the thing make noise.. little did I know that's the best time to keep slinging balls.

The dongle should work with an unmodified machine with no problems at all. The only complication is if the machine has been modified so that it doesn't need to have anything plugged into the dongle socket to enable the shooter handle.

It should be easy to check for this before committing to buy a dongle, just look on the back for a D-25 socket (same style as an old PC printer port) and see if anything is plugged in there. If the socket is empty then the machine has been modified, and the modification may have to be removed before the dongle will operate properly. This is usually just a matter of removing the circuit board and looking for a solder blob on the back that connects two pins together, this blob can then be unsoldered or snipped off and the machine should be back to 'unmodified' status.

Not all modifications are incompatible with the dongle though, so even if this is the case, you might not have to make any changes to the machine at all.
