    Default AT&T U-Verse

I don't know much about this, but I've been getting flyers in the mail, salesmen at the door, and today when the at&t guy came by, to clear up the phone reception, he mentioned it as well.

It seems like it could be a good deal (but you know what they say about those), and I'm thinking about it, but wanted to hear some feedback.

So... does anybody have this yet? And, how do you like it?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds a lot like Verizon Fios... I haven't made the leap to either yet.

Verizon had FIOS fiber optic tv, internet and phone packages here for 99.99 a month for the first year.

    then they jack up prices.

when putting in the fiber optic lines they remove your regular phone lines.

so, once you get it your stuck with it.

That's when you start using your Mobile phone, and say forget you to Verizon.

If you have a dish or DSL you need a land line.

my son went with the same deal from Comcast cable and still has the option open to go back to his regular phone line if he wants too.

I'm happy wth my regular phone line with DSL.

and my converter box on my tv is pulling in over 20 channels free.

    I do miss my Tivo

I have dish and no land line. I have Skype and a Mobile phone. None of them are connected to the Dish receiver. They don't like it, but will install it without a phone connected. You just cant use the interactive stuff or order PPV from the receiver. I don't use any of the those features, so it's not an issue for me. Also, AT&T (at least here) will allow you to have DSL without a regular phone. This may not be the case everywhere, but they do it here.

Land Line and Broadband paid for by work here,

Unfortunately the Tax Man still gets me for it...

So I get my money's worth by hangin' out here

If I had to pay for it myself I would probably go for some kind of 'all in one' deal like my Sister does, she has Cable TV, Broadband and Landline, can't remember how much she said it was, but I remember thinking, hey thats a great deal

Home line & DSL @ both houses still. ( Will be so glad when I sell the one in NJ)
Verizon in NJ & AT&T in TN.
Dish Network for TV in Both.
NJ is a little cheaper for both phone & DSL then AT&T, even without my Verizon discount on phone service.
I work for Verizon, so I get a phone line discount but nothing on DSL.

Damn dude!!! I only pay $33.00 for Comcast internet. My entire bill is only $100. And that is with HD boxes. I don't use their phone service though. For that I use Vonage. The great thing about Vonage is; wherever you go you can plug it in and get your phone calls (Including overseas.)

Comcast is a little more expensive in California for some reason. I guess it's lack of good competition. My service is $56.00 plus all of the taxes they throw on top of that. I have GrandCentral for my phone numbers so I can add numbers to wherever I am and the caller is unaffected. It's kind of nice since it screens call, and allows me to block unwanted callers.

It's the extra emissions equipment CA requires. Bet your mileage is worse too.
