Default Buying for use in the U.K

Hi, first post and to start I would like to say how valuable this site has been for me.

I'm in the U.K and want a slot machine for use by both the kids and my wife and myself, now I have told my wife (AKA: The Ball and Chain) that it is practically LAW that you should have atleast 2 machines but she insist's that I can only have 1  (note: Never marry someone from New Zealand  )

So after looking at the reviews on this site I am bidding on a Speed Racer machine on Ebay. Do you guys think this a good choice for a machine, I cant help but think I should of bid on a DDK or Beast Slapp but the interactive features/games on Speed Racer will mean the kids will get some enjoyment from the machine.

Also cost must come into my choice of machine, it cost's $250 to ship to my local airport so buying 1 every month or so aint' really an option, even if the £/$ rate is nearly 2/1 at the moment.

Anyway thanks for a really good site and some great members.

    Hello and Welcome John !

Here in the US we hear about your slot machines called fruit machines. The emulators and their respective roms have made it over here as well and they are a blast to play. Do you have any near you or do you own one?
A few of us here have been curious about them as to playability etc.
A while back in a magazine called "Gameroom Magazine" a Star Wars Fruit machine was discussed and a picture was shown on their website. Have you seen this machine there?

I don't own any at the moment, but when I was a kid I was lucky to have parents who bought some machines for home use , we had a fruit machine in our living room (speakers disconnected) and my dad had the first ever talking Pin Ball machine in the U.K in our kitchen (which I broke one christmas morning)

Davis, thanks for the offer, I actually found this cool site through one of your ebay auctions. If I miss out on the Speed Racer machine I think I will bid on a DDK, but I see you have an Outlaw for sale which I have half an eye on. I really do think you should have at least 2 machines and the whacking big conservatory I'm having built in the new year would be the perfect setting for 2 machines.

I think if I was in the U.K. I'd be looking for a Dr. Who fruit machine instead of a pachislo. By the time you ship in a pachislo won't it cost you about as much as a fruit machine?

I agree that a Dr. Who fruitmachine would be a real find ! Wasn't a dealer here going to look into bring a few fruits in ?

Keep in mind that if you do get one, you'll need to use a voltage converter as they're wired for 120 volts. In any case, there's lots of nice models out there right now to choose from.
